Winter brings the Friends of Dartmouth Rowing to New York for its annual meeting and gives me a chance to get caught up with one of the true "icons" of the sport, our own Hart Perry. Back from globe-girdling travels that have taken him as far as Plovdiv, Bulgaria, for three fall weeks (where he assures me that the local food and wine were as good as the rowing!), Hart is now hard at work—as executive director of the National Rowing Federation—raising funds to assure a victorious outcome for our national crew at the Sydney Olympics. If you want to contribute, I am sure he would be happy to hear from you at the Museum of America and the Sea at Mystic Seaport, where he is adjunct curator of rowing. The address is 67 Mystic Road, North Stonington, CT 06359, and Hart's e-mail address is natrowing@aol.com.

Class treasurer Ralph Sautter kindly passes on a note from Tom Fleming, who is a broker associate for Coldwell Banker in Carmel, Calif, (fortunate fellow—sounds like shooting fish in a barrel!), who reports, "I am giving up the PGA golf tourney here at Pebble Beach."

A press release from the American Diabetes Association announces that JerryBernstein (associate clinical professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and director of the diabetes management program at Beth Israel Medical Center) has joined its research foundation board of directors. "Dr. Bernstein is an outstanding addition to our team," said the chair of the board. "I am certain he will make a valuable contribution."

Finally, as you read this, our big 45th Reunion is just one month away (Monday, June 12, through Thursday, June 15). Aside from the many events put on by the College (bus tours, college-sponsored panels, open houses, Glee Club concert, Reunion College and address by President James Wright), our own reunion chairman Ken Lundstrom is putting together a fine program of events just for the class of 1955. These will include a symposium chaired by Jim Perkins titled "What Is It We Don't Get and Why Is It We Don't Get It?" class dinners each of the three nights, golf and tennis tournaments, a class picnic, our class meeting and memorial service and—as usual—socializing at the 1955 class tent at the end of the day.

If you have not yet signed up, do so today, to once again enjoy the College we love and to renew acquaintances with a unique group whose association and friendships now span two-thirds of our lives.
