Since my last column arrived after our reunion took place, you may be wondering about my sense of timing. Then again, you're likely not wondering about me at all. Regardless, let's give a collective thumbs up for the stellar job done by our reunion committee, particulary co-chairs Becky Blake Osborne and Todd Cranford! What a great time, perhaps only summarized by a limerick:

210 alums took Hanover by storm A few pounds and hair loss the inevitable norm Lots of kids and tons of laughs Nevermind the forgotten name gaffes Did I mention it was incredibly warm?

Though not entirely comprehensive, you get the idea, if you have any comments or suggestions for future reunions, feel free to contact any of our recently elected/appointed class officers. They are (drumroll, please) Margaret Warram Marder (president), Pamela Ponce Johnson (VP), Leslie Davis Dahl, Shelley Leavitt Nadel and John MacManus (hey, my name's in the column) (secretaries), Kimberlee Booker Schmid (treasurer), Julie Mazman (newsletter editor), Jeff Wietzman (Webmaster), Lucy Harvey LoRe (mini-reunion chair), Becky Blake Osborne (Alumni Council rep) and Barry Bass (head agent). The class is still looking for two others to help Julie and Barry in their respective offices. Names will be drawn from a hat if no one volunteers.

Speaking of Barry Bass, he raced to victory in the Sunday morning 2-mile run. Reports from local residents indicate Bass took gold with a well-timed lean in front of a '61 pushing his grandson in a baby-jogger and a '96 stumbling backwards from frat row. I should also mention that Barry res ides in Potomac, Maryland, should your caller ID reference that town of our new head agent, if you get my drift.

I learned a lot at reunion, especially that any sentence that begins with, "Whatever happened to that video" is best ended with"I think it got destroyed." Jim Kreitman was kind enough to remind me of this, though I am implying nothing about his involvement in this missing video. I heard through the grapevine that Chris Mulligan enjoyed the '86 reunion. 5 Olde still serves a mean iced tea. The Co-Op can put a Dartmouth logo on anything. Peter Harned will agree that shopping after being overserved the night before is no picnic. Classmates in air-conditioned dorms were in better moods than others. My old dorm room was small. Current Alpha Chis have a minimal sense of nostalgia. Driving up the hill into Hanover is still magical!

Yes, there is other news. Curtis Johnson, wife Pam and daughter Cameron welcomed Chase Alexander Johnson into the world on April 30. David Searby sent a note with regrets for missing reunion, though he continues to enjoy his work as an assistant cultural affairs officer in the Foreign Service. David, based in Mexico City, coordinates professional exchange programs in which Mexican and American speakers discuss topics such as free trade, immigration, drugs, police work, the environment and likely World Cup soccer.

By the way, the January/February issue of the Alumni Magazine will be devoted to "special places." With Hanover fresh on our minds, why not drop a note to any of the secretaries with a description of your favorite place and why it is special to you. Examples may include classic locations such as the mung corner or the Tally Flouse, though I suspect somewhere a little more special would be more appropriate and printable.

Again, great to see everyone in Hanover. To those who missed it, did I mention it was hot?
