Despite its ownership of arguably the year's mosthumorous day, April is not a funny month and as such, this column will not be funny. It will be devoted primarily to class business related to our 15th reunion. While intrinsically not a kneeslapper, this information will have a direct effect on your happiness level if you decide to attend our 15 th reunion on June 15-17. You can thank me later after you attend and realize it was this column that made you want to attend. If this column makes you not want to attend, show up anyway to humor me.
For those of you who may find this column funny, I've got just the thing for you: a chance to regale your classmates during, yes, Open Mic Night (for the uninformed, this is open microphone, not Michelob) at the Top of the Hop. Our own Charla McMillan (pictured next to me in the freshman book, I might add, despite being out of alphabetical order) is coordinating this sure fire winner and is looking for performers. Call Charla at (508) 875-6177 or (877) FITBOOT or e-mail her at fitboot@fitboot.com to express your interest. I've already given her the names of some of my favorite classmates. Can't wait to hear Russ Mitchell's stand up routine and, if we're lucky, some of Mike Young's recently published haikus!
For the photographically inclined, Jeff Weitzman will be coordinating, gathering and scanning current and old photos for a slide show at Saturdays dinner. Send your photos to Jeff at 2497 Ross Road, Palo Alto, CA 943 03-3 624 or e-mail any digital copies to him at jeff@weitzman. net. He will return the photos at reunion. Bleats s photos will be rejected.
By ROW everyone has received numerous reunion mailings. Read them, send them in and get to Hanover in June. Our reunion will be truly successful only if many of you attend. As you can see by reading the materials you've been sent, many folks have already committed and more will. Make the effort to attend—you will be glad you did. Who knows, you may even see your name in a future column.
Someone who will see her name is this column is Deidre Ifill. Diedre sent me a newsy e-mail and told me she lives in Jersey with her daughter and husband and works in sales for Glaxo Smithline. Deidre also mentioned that she recently attended a fund-raiser in New York, partly organized by Lorenzo Chambers, who lives in Brooklyn and works for a small investment firm in NYC. Thanks to Deidre for news on Denise Hansberry (works for the SEC in Washingtonno pigskin fans, that's the Securities Exchange Commission, not the Southeastern Conference), Jackie Hayott (works for an investment firm in NYC), Gabrielle Brown (working for an Internet magazine in Seattle) and Veronica Jenkins (lives in Jersey and works for Lucent).
Well, that's about it but, if you take nothing else from this column, remember this about reunion: Large Seagull Eggs Kind of Grim: Laugh And Relive Great Experiences. See Everyone And Get Uproarious! Long Lost Eighty-Fives, Guys, Girls, Spouses, Kids Invited! No Doubt Outrageous Fun! Guaranteed Rage, Incredible Memories. (Gimme a break. I had some space to fill). See you in June!
