Reunion records: Unfortunately, I wasn't able to join y'all in Hanover, but George A. Eldridge could hardly contain his excitement about the totally awesome performance of the class of 1985. Here are the particulars: (1) we set a record for the 15th reunion for unrestricted giving with $482,274. Our total giving was $607,274; (2) we exceeded our goal for unrestricted giving by the largest percent (113 percent) of any reunion class—the closest class was at 101 percent; (3) we more than doubled the number of leadership gifts ($2,500 or more) to 78, with only four other classes exceeding that number; (4) we raised the eighth-largest dollar total for unrestricted funds of all classes (reunion and non-reunion). Congratulations to George and Billy Budd for a job well done and to our new class president (and my "twin" Sophomore Summer!), Margaret Marder.

Stork sightings: Karen (Garbe) Matjuchaand hubbie Ippolit recently celebrated the biith of Ip- polit Paul, born May 29. I'm sure that sister Ka- terina Elise is enjoying being a big sister. Mark Inkster and wife Kate Lilienthal 'BB joined the parental ranks this spring with the birth of So- phie. Sophie took her first airplane trip at the ripe age of 3 months when she joined mom and dad in Hanover for reunion—l guess it's nev- er too early to get the Green spirit! Mark says parenthood is an amazing experience, and it has even persuaded the Inksters to move from Telegraph Hill in San Francisco to a home in Northern Silicon Valley. Well, Mark, those of us veteran baby-minders can only say one thing: "You haven't seen anything yet!" By the way, I owe Mark a huge thank you for giving me so many updates for this column—he was absolutely a friend in need.

Web wanderings: Lori Bamberger has left her position as deputy undersecretary of HUD under President Clinton to become a dot-com CEO. John Dawes has been in a number of web startups and is currently VP of an e-mail company called Disappearing Ink. Amy (Brout) McHugh is director of business development at Pay Cycle. Jeff Weitzman is senior directorof client services at Yahoo! And Mark Inkster, the new dad, is now the production director of Yahoo!'s core technologies and international team.

Living life: Steve Mines shuttles between Austin and Washington, D.C., and splits his time between his law practice and traveling all over the world interpreting. Dan Freeh lives in Oregon's wine country with his wife, Mary, and baby Christian (known as le petit homme). He works at Hewlett Packard during the day but still makes time for woodworking nights and weekends. Kathleen(Schoenfelder)Hebert lives in Seattle with her husband, Michael, an amazing musician according to reports. Kathleen is a vice president at Microsoft.

Class conversations: Please bookmark www.alum.dartmouth.org/~classtlk/. The class talk forum is a "message board" of sorts for all classes, and it is a great way to keep in touch, find other fellow alums, hear about what is happening on campus and see what other classes are talking about. Speaking of staying in touch John, Leslie and I fought off a tough reelection battle and will be happy to bring you exciting columns for another five years. Thanks for the confidence and support.
