Class Officers Weekend was cancelled due to the unfortunate happening at the World Trade Center. It was to be held on September 14-15 and we were to meet in our individual disciplines and discuss past, present and future activities. However, our 2001 mini-reunion was held on September 28-29 as scheduled in the Hanover Inn, attended by 16 classmates with a total attendance of 32. On Friday evening we listened to our scholarship students Adam Milliken 'O2 and Lauren Gee '03. A class meeting followed their presentations; the decisions made there will be forwarded to you at a later date. A thrilling football game with Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon was followed by dinner with speaker Dick Jaeger, athletic director. His remarks were most informative! The next issue of The Pacesetter will include more details of the weekend, plus a list of all reunion attendees. And I have made plans for 2002 to be held on October 11-12 over Yale weekend! Please note your calendars! Details will follow!

Tidbits From Reunion: It was nice having Jimmy and Ginny Chandler and Jack and Marge Karr back with us. Marge has a spinal problem, but she was bright and smiling even with a walker. Yes, we do have dedicated classmates and wives! Bob and Mary Ross have moved into an assisted living complex in Scarborough, Maine, and Earl and Doris Ward have done the same in the Hanover area. Dick Holt and Dave Duffy remain healthy, but Ben Walkley and Irv Brown have problems. Lew Parker is in good health, but doesn't drive. His wife, Fran, is in the middle stages of Alzheimer's. I regret having to tell you of the loss of Johnny Johnson, Jimmy Miller and Ellie Herrick's wife, Peggy.

Jean and I went to the Dartmouth/Holy Cross football game last Saturday and sawa most inept football team get beaten 40-10. Knowing how they played in their last three games, this was an embarrassment. There were no other 38ers present, but we enjoyed meeting and tailgating with a group of alumni from the class of 1994. Their enthusiasm saved the day and made me feel young again!

Again, we wish you the happiest and healthiest of holidays!
