Well, good old Buffi Knucklehead did it again. His column was supposed to be in the April issue but he mailed it in early April Fool anyway!

John Van Raalte called recently. He was spending some time at Stowe, Vt., with his family. John reports his boys are way ahead of him on the slopes - a situation we are all facing.

October 17, 1970 has been set as the date for the annual class officers and executive committee meeting. Everyone in the class is invited, encouraged to attend, and it is a good opportunity to take wives and kids for a nostalgic trip to both New Hampshire and Vermont. It will be the weekend of the Brown game and we hope to have everyone stay at the Woodstock Inn. The Inn is brand spanking new and is supposed to be very plush. This should be a great chance to get together and enjoy a football game at a time when hopefully the only riot in New England will be one involving the foliage. Anyone interested in going drop me a line, soon, as we will have to firm up our reservations.

Jerry Werber's daughter Carol was recently engaged. Jerry and family live in Rumson, N.J.

Jack Tracy has been elected a director of Worcester Federal Savings and Loan Association in Worcester, Mass. Jack, a Partner in the law firm of June, Fletcher & Whipple, is past president and director of the Worcester Area Chamber of Commerce and is also a director of the Citizens' Plan E Association. He and Ann have five children, ages eight to sixteen.

Norman Saunders, senior attending physician at the Maine Medical Center, Portland Me., practices in internal medicine with special interest in diabetes. Norm is a member of the board of directors of the New England Diabetes Association and one of the very few "48's" in the Dartmouth Club of Maine (probably not a very significant item to our general readership but of great interest up in the Northeast Kingdom). With four sons, the oldest of whom will soon be in college, Norm and Martha find that the practice of medicine and their family are a full time occupation.

Congratulations to Lawrence Kepnes who was elected master of Freedom Lodge, A.F. & A.M. of Masons in Arlington, Mass. He is president of Kepnes Fuel Oil Co. in Medford, Mass., and he and Janet live in Medford. Their daughter Jennine is a sophomore at Kirkland College, Clinton, N.Y., son Steven is a senior at Commonwealth School in Boston and daughter Susan a sophomore at Medford High School.

Bill and Liz Ivins and three daughters are living in Huntington, N.Y. Bill is a pediatrician associated with a medical surgical group in private practice. He is the physician for the local "Headstart" program and secretary of the Dartmouth Medical School Class of 1951.

John Hatheway was among the '48's at the Charter Day celebration last December. It would be difficult to improve on John's description of the event as "... impressive and moving...."

Dwight Burley reports from the sunshine state that he is both busy and contented. He is in the general practice of medicine with two associates in his own clinic in Coral Gables. He also does part time teaching at the University of Miami School of Medicine and is a director of Guaranty Bank of Miami. In spite of four children, ages 8 to 17, he still finds time to spend on his interests of fishing and tennis.

Congratulations to Russ Carlson who has been elected executive vice president of the Onondaga Savings Bank in Syracuse, N.Y. Russ joined Onondaga in 1952 after starting his banking career with Guaranty Trust Co. of New York. He was elected an officer in 1955 and has served in a variety of posts since then. Russ and Helen have two children and live in Syracuse.
