Dan Herlihy, Watt Boone,Teddy Rice, Jeremy Hammond, Drew Pluhar and Drew Mowery all met on the shores of Lake Michigan to visit Marcus Coe and his boarding school haunts for a weekend in February. The crew sampled the local artwork, caught the view from one of the worlds tallest buildings, supped on huge quantities of red meat, sang hand-in-hand to Johnny Cash with locals, tossed around the horsehide and forever changed the face of railroad travel. Along the way they met up with Beau River, Paige Perry and Andy Pennock '99. A high old time was had by all.

I'm happy to report that Jenny Piatt and Taco Toyohara were engaged in late January. The couple is "super psyched" and Jenny is downright giddy. The wedding details have not been setyet, but a New England wedding is most likely in the works. Also, Kate Werley and Ciaran Connelly '99 were engaged this past summer during a trip to France. The two will be married in Kates hometown of Spring Lake, New Jersey, on August 3. The majority of the 18 bridesmaids and groomsmen (and guests) are Dartmouth alums, and Shay Lawrence promises to report back on the fun stories after the big event. And lastly, Laura Fiore was engaged to Vito La Francesca in November, and a July 27 wedding is planned. Congratulations to all the happy couples.

Sadiq Malik reports that Sunil Verma was in NYC in early February. "He is at USC med school in LA and is working pretty hard—at least, that's what the receding hairline seems to indicate. Mitzi Zarfoss was also in NYC. She has been dissecting animals at Cornell Veterinarian School. We are all hoping that she will move to the city once she graduates to help the many homeless/stray animals in the city".

Shannon Danzy, who is working for Spike Lees advertising agency, Spike DDB, in NYC writes that Ray "Moses" Long and Matt "Mellis" Ellis returned to Leverone Field House in Hanover to compete in the Dartmouth relays the first weekend of February in the long jump and triple jump. "Mind you, neither has really 'worked out' since graduation and Mellis hasn't triple jumped since high school. They made the sand pit! Coach was both proud and amused. Both are still recuperating."

Ben Rifkin was in Park City, Utah, for the Olympics and ran into a "ridiculous number of Dartmouth peeps" including Jules Kesner, Christian Budde, Jeannie Eisberg '01, Jamie Hozack, Melissa Roth, Bryon Friedman '02, Scott Macartney '01 (a U.S. Olympian), Amy Klepetar '98 and Michael Carey '98. Due to the revelry of the events, Ben can't remember everyone he ran into, but he certainly had a great time.

Joe LaBracio, Jonathan Light, John Finley, Dan Siegal, Tom Kanter and Justin Mandel stormed into Beantown in February for a spur of the moment mini-reunion with Evan Greenbaum, Thad Glowacki, Sam Desai and Chris Welty. Absent was second lieutenant Jeremy Joseph, USMC, who was unable to escape his duties from Norfolk, Virginia. After throwing darts with the locals, sampling some of Boston's finest food and drink, reveling in pre-Super Bowl festivities with Patriots faithful and catching up on life's recent developments, all agreed they need to have reunions more often. If you are interested in having an alumni party or want to help organize '00 alumni events, e-mail Sadiq Malik in NYC, Domingo Martinez in DC or Lauren Scopaz in Boston. If you live in a different geography and have an idea for a '00 event in your area, e-mail Becca Udler. If you'd like to see your name (or someone else's) in bold, please drop me an e-mail.
