Another successful fall mini under the able management of the Field family, classmate Bob, son Peter and daughter-in-law Ali, who was officially adopted by the class in recognition of her enthusiastic efforts on our behalf The other 46 attendees were Joan and Bob Barnum, Marj Boley, Louise and Pres Brooks, Andy Caffrey, Barbara and Charlie Cusack with son Chuck, Anne and Bing Donaldson, Ruthie and Charlie Donovan, Joan and Bob Ehinger, Nancy Elliot, Nance and Fritz Geller, Jean and Bob Grant, Susie and Bob Gray, DJ and Bud Hall, Barbara Hadlock and Phil Harmon, Mary and John Jenkins, Bud Kast, Ann and John Keefe, Howie Leavitt, Hugh Lena, Barbara and Bob Liming, Ray McMahon, Jan and Farmer Mead, Connie and Don Reich, Helen Kidder Seyfert, Connie and Mike Thurston, Judd Waldron and Ruth and Paul Young. Expected but unable to make the gathering were Barbara and Val Valarino. At the class meeting Bud Kast reported another successful fund campaign (Bud and his loyal, hard-working agents deserve our plaudits for the role they play each year), Phil Harmon noted a whopping 40 percent increase in DAM rates ("we may need creative accounting to breakeven") and Prexy Hall noted the altered location (an improvement) of the class memorial statue by the Hopkins Center. Mike Hanitchek, supervisor of the Native American program, observed that there are 44 Native Americans in this year's freshman class—his goal is a four-year undergraduate total of 200. The football game was exciting and competitive despite the negative outcome. A reminder that our 60th (under Bob Field's leadership) will be June 8-10. Will keep you apprised as more details are forthcoming. Bud Hall e-mailed with news that our class is recipient of the 2002 Special Recognition Award! Paul Randall recently wrote of his and Betsy's move to a senior living facility and their regret at missing the fall gathering. Four more deaths to report: Cyrus Brown, Alonzo "Bud" Stedman, Harry "Kirk" Denier and Charles Bradley. Our sympathies to the families. Stay well!
