Some 40 souls looking for a good time turned out for the mini-reunion last October. We saw Dartmouth win 20-17, blocking Yale's field goal attempt with only seconds to go. Hunt Allison planned a well-received program. Saturday morning featured a senior who supervised the Student Teachers in the Arts program, to which our class donated funds. Then followed a wonderful guided tour of the Hood Museum by its director, Derrick Cartwright. An informative talk by the Colleges new director of athletics, Josie Harper, was featured Friday night, and the tape of the Tom Brokaw/NBC 60th reunion broadcast was shown after Saturday s dinner.

Discussion at the class meeting centered largely on plans for future mini-reunions. President Bob Kirk appointed Proc Page and myself as a committee to work with Hunt in coming up with ideas. Your input is needed. What kind of event will bring you to Hanover? Or elsewhere? Football? Entertainment? Fall New England foliage? Should we keep the bus transportation to Hanover? Please send your ideas to Hunt, Proc or myself, if you haven't already answered the questionnaire sent with the newsletter.

It was good to see Jane Sargent, Daves widow. Also on hand were two who missed the 60th because of medical problems—Ted Arico and Dutch Schaeffer. Both have fully recovered.

The class will place a memorial plaque on campus (in the area east of the Hanover Inn) honoring the classmates who perished during World War II. A sketch was shown and approved unanimously.

A sad note: Margaret "Maggie" Kreter, wife of Warren, and well known to most of the class, died last September after a long illness. She will be missed. Our belated condolences to Warren.

Melvina and Chuck Herberger have been retired for some time and are obviously enjoying it. They have traveled a good deal, including a round-the-world trip of 120 days and many more since. Chuck is still writing. Two recent books were: Three Centuries of Centerville Scenes: Vignettesof a Cape Cod Village and A Yankee at Arms—TheCivil War Diary of Lt. Augustus D.Ayling.
