Steve Waterhouse, organizer, host and historian for what is becoming another class tradition—the March visit to Vailsummed up this years out-of-Hanover class reunion: "Once again some aging but agile and certainly willing, members of the class of 1965 gathered in Vail to enjoy great skiing, shopping, house-hunting, superb meals, fine wine and the company of a number of Dartmouth alumni who populate the Vail Valley. Class participators included Ted Atkinson with wife-to-be Marcia Pryde, Norm Christianson with wife Ellen and son Jay, Chuck Lobitz, Ron Riley with wife Anne, Marshall Wallach and Steve Waterhouse with wife Linda. Highlights included great skiing, dinner at Ron Riley's restaurant, Russell's, and a cocktail party at Steve and Linda's home with a number of other Dartmouth grads from the classes of '53 to '71. The snow was soft and pliant everywhere and there were simply no bad runs anywhere on the mountain. The cocktail party included a wine tasting focused on Norm and Ellens wonderful Canyon Wind wines, which is distributed in 14 states including the New Hampshire liquor store in Lebanon." For long-range planners, the next Vail ski weekend will probably be organized for March 5-7,2004.

Many of us will be turning 60 sometime in this year. A 60th birthday party committee has been formed, headed by Mike Bettman, Ted Atkinson, Jim Griffiths and Hank Amon. The celebration will be in the Hanover area Friday, August 1, through Sunday, August 3. Theme will be community service, working with the Habitat for Humanity and other Upper Valley organizations to participate in construction of new housing. There will also be hiking, boating, golfing and cycling as well as a barbeque at the home of Jim and Debby Griffiths in Plainfield near Lebanon. Pierces will, of course, be "'65 Central." Happy birthday to all, and hope to see you there.
