Hi all. You gotta love Dartmouth weddings. They're a great reunion of sorts and last December 7 many of our classmates converged on Captiva Island, Florida, to celebrate the nuptials of Yeng Felipe and Chris Cho. Class of'96s who were at the wedding included Maribel Bastian (maid of honor), Cindy Weigle (bridesmaid), Cristina Courey (bridesmaid), Enrique Colbert, Mike Brudzinski, Barry Shea, Dave Levin, Mike Jakola, Chip Sanchez, Lawrence Park, Barney Olson, Derek Squire, Aaron Sandoski, Becca Graves, Joe Parlavecchio, Mike Gordon and JR Tomkinson. Other alumni present included Bill Hamlen '84 (Yeng's brother-in-law) and Vivian Lee '97 (Chris' cousin). The ceremony at the Chapel by the Sea, which incorporated Filipino wedding traditions, and the reception at Robert Rauschenberg's Viva Traders Gallery capped off an extended weekend celebration. The active couple scheduled fun activities for their guests such as golf, sea kayaking, deep sea fishing, hiking, beach football, a surprise karaoke battle, a traditional Filipino "Merienda Tea" and a pig roast complete with all the barbecue trimmings and a jazz quartet. Yeng expressed her joy that all their family and friends were able to come from far away places such as Havana, Manila, Seoul, Manhattan, Boston, Placencia Jamestown, Baj a, Santorini, Ann Arbor and, of course, Hanover, to share in their special day. Congratulations, Yeng and Chris! I can't believe you guys have been a Dartmouth couple for almost 10 years!

Congratulations as well to Dave Kramer. Dave wrote in with some news. He will be attending Harvard next year, at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, for a two-year masters in public policy. Dave writes: "With the Democratic National Convention here in Boston during the summer between my two years, it promises to be exciting. My aim is to focus my studies on environmental policy and international development. Basically, I'm out to change the world for the better." Post Dartmouth Dave had been teaching in Cali, Colombia. During his four-year stint there he taught English, environmental studies and U.S. history. Dave also wedded Carolina Gomez, a Colombian woman he met during his third year in Cali. Dave loved Colombia's natural beauty and biodiversity, but he was and continues to be extremely concerned by the security situation there. That hasn't stopped him from visiting his in-laws, but he hopes he can help Colombia change for the better. Currently Dave, his wife and his dog are in Boston. Dave comments: "My dog loves the cool weather. My wife's had a harder time adapting! She teaches elementary school Spanish in Wellesley. I work for an amazing after school program/school reform organization called Citizen Schools, helping start a pilot eighth-grade program. I believe strongly in the organizations emphasis on community involvement with schools, social justice and grassroots organizing." Dave notes that the future looks very bright for him, even during such uncertain times, and he hopes all is well with everyone and would love to hear from any of you.

I would also love to hear from any of you, so be sure to drop me a line for the next issue!
