Also doing well is John Barros. After a stint working for an insurance company in New York, John is back in his hometown of Roxbury, Massachusetts, working to rebuild and revitalize the neighborhood. As executive director of the famed Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, he is working to enhance the quality of life in Roxbury-North Dorchester by improving housing, education and the environment for local residents. John joined DSNI when he was 14 and was selected to head the group after a nationwide search last year. He has received many awards for his commitment and dedication to the community.
Matt Little e-mailed that he is looking forward to reunion and that he is back on Capitol Hill after taking some time off to swim with dolphins, sharks and turtles. After his previous employer Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan retired this year, Matt decided to do some traveling and visited Australia's Great Barrier Reef and the New Zealand coast. Matt has since returned to D.C. and is currently working for the Northeast Midwest Institute, a nonprofit public policy think tank. "I work on environmental issues for them, mainly invasive species and clean air."
Doug Asano also sent in an update. Doug got married last June to Alexi Roestel, a Wellesley grad who spent her sophomore and junior year at Dartmouth. "A Dartmouth-centric event, we had the rehearsal dinner at Cafe Buon Gustaio and throughout the weekend, friends and family gathered at Mary '82 and Peter '78 Renner's beautiful farm in Woodstock, Vermont." The wedding party included Mike Rigney as co-best man; Cathy Roestel '93 as maid of honor; Dan Kalafatas, Andrew Obenshain and Chris McGee as groomsmen; and Sarah Lugaric as bridesmaid.
