Bob Mussey and Elizabeth attended Alumni College this past summer— the third straight year. The course they took was titled "Golden Years: 1870 to the mid- 1890s." "The weather was not as hot as last year and we had periods of rain," he says. "Things up here are as beautiful as ever!"
George Porter and Lela are enjoying their summer on Cape Cod and for the winter months plan to return to La Jolla, California, where he will continue his sculpting for two days a week and spending two to three days working out in the local gym. George is no longer an admiral, having given his three boats to his children.
Roy Block of Barbary Coast fame and Northport, New York, is enjoying semi-retirement from the investment business. He left for a short while but returned on a part-time basis.
And now for some class statistics: As of this date, August 20,169 graduates and 30 non-grads of the 'Amazing Class of 1938" are alive and well(?). We live in 32 states, with six classmates living outside of the continental limits. The most populated states are Florida (22); Massachusetts, California and New Hampshire (all with 15); Connecticut (14); and New York (12). You will also be interested to know that as of January 1, 2005, 20 percent will be 87 years old, 46 percent 88 years old, and 25 percent 89 years old. Our "class baby" will be 85 and our "old men" will be 92. All I can say is: Stay healthy!
We are officially back home...and awfully glad to be there!
