Thanks to the anonymous folks who labor tirelessly for (in part, anyway) your class co-secretaries, there is a bit of news this month. First of all, James Nachtwey continues to recover from his wounds at home as I write this. In March he was named Magazine Photographer of the Year in the Missouri School of Journalisms Picture of the Year International Competition. He's no stranger to this honor, since it is a record eighth time that he has been selected to receive it. Other awards and honors he has received through the years are too numerous to list.
And at the other end of the country, Michael Thorman is reportedly representing one of the defendants in a high-profile Alameda County, California, murder trial.
And on a sad note, word has been received of two deaths: James Muhlfelder and Charlie L. Johnson. Our sympathies go out to their families; obituaries will appear in a later edition of the Alumni Magazine.
By the time you get this, we here in the Upper Valley will have the peas in, and be eagerly awaiting Fathers' Day and the end of the black flies. Feel free to send me news or a note...there's no charge. Any thoughts about our 35th (how did it get so late so early?)—send 'em along.
