What if nobody read the column? Well, you wouldn't know that David Seidenberg actually does read the column and took the time to write me with his correct e-mail: rebduvid86@hotmail.com. Thanks for the correction, David.

What if the college didn't send me updates? Well, you wouldn't know that on August 30 Galan Daukas joined the Washington Trust Cos. as executive vice president and will lead the banks wealth management division. Galan is based in Providence and will be responsible for establishing and executing strategy for the banks trust and investment area. Galan has extensive experience in the industry, most recently as COO of The Managers Fund in Norwalk, Connecticut, where the firm grew from $2.7 to $8.5 billion in assets during his tenure. Knowing that, what if I had invested my first billion with Galan? We are pleased to welcome Galan to our team, said the Washington Trust CEO. (C'mon, what's he gonna say?)

What if nobody knew that our 20th reunion was next summer? Well, our reunion chairs, Beth Parish and Chris Veator would be unhappy and our reunion would be a drag. Consider yourself informed and plan to attend. Contact Beth at monktong1@aol.com or Chris at cveator@opentext.com with any brilliant suggestions or offers to help plan our 20th.

After all, reunions are always a time tor memories and musings. What if Jay Lanni had continued to deliver pizzas? What if Manus Clancy had continued his radio/sports trivia career? Would we be watching ESPN's The Man Clan show? What if John Hanson had actually kept in touch with anyone over the past 20 years? Ditto Pat Viscardi and Scott "The Goose" Schneider. What if Gayle Gilman married Lenny Gail? What if Lisa Carson had married Dave Carson or Nancy Byrne had married Craig, Pat or Mark Byrne? Would they change their name? What if Brenda Young married Mike Young? How would you know? Or what if Sue Schott or Caroline Howe had married Lincoln Yu? Would they hyphenate it? What if Dallas Ann Dallman or Beth Ann DeBernardi insisted on monograms? Does Keith Edward Getter use a monogram? What if Mark Alan Niebart and Thomas Harold Espy used a dual monogram? What if the College had confused my transcript with Brian Barnes? Unlikely. What if Martin Steffen and John Wolfe formed a business? What if Tom Seymour and Cheryl Chow or Chris Littie and Will Moore did the same? What if Lisa Snow, Eric Woods and Ed Beach joined forces? What if I hadn't just spent 45 minutes looking through the Freshman Book? What if this column wasn't so darn full of names? What if I actually had some news to convey? I'm not sure if any of those folks will be attending reunion, but if you don't attend you won't know either. You do not want to miss it. I write that because it always sounds like a good thing to say and probably because its true.

On a sadder note, I received news that Richard Wilson passed away on July 9. Richard was a member of our class and later graduated from Norfolk State University, where he received a B.S. in sociology. Richard taught pre-K children in Portsmouth, Virginia, for eight years, where he is remembered as a charismatic and joyous teacher who made a difference in the lives of his students.

By the way, what if we hadn't gone to Dartmouth?
