Dr. Bill Boyle, professor of pediatrics and community and family medicine at Dartmouth's Medical School, also practices family-centered care at the Children's Hospital. Recently Bill was inducted into the national Gold Humanism Honor Society, recognizing "exemplary service to others, integrity, clinical excellence [and his] compassion for patients, their families and colleagues."

Also still practicing, in his case "small-town dentistry because it's fun," Pete Strock says his other priorities are "grandkids, skiing and tennis." Pete, it should be noted, is among the published book authors in our class, his being one of the earlier works on the electron microscope.

Out in Hartland, Wisconsin, Petes freshman roommate Rick Luedke tells a recent life story unlike any other. Approaching retirement he sold his business brokerage firm—nothing unusual. Having always wanted to "see all the country," our classmate thought things through and decided being an airline pilot was the logical way to do it.

Rejected for pilot training but still wanting to "see the country," our hero concluded that driving a long-distance bus was the next best alternative to flying and applied at a local charter company. They accepted Rick for training but unexpectedly specified that drivers must also take a school bus route, the company's bread-and- butter business. Unfazed, Rick drove a school bus morning and evening for three-plus years over what he describes as "the most beautiful route in Southeast Wisconsin" and, on other days, took charter groups all over North America. Says Rick: "For one thing, I now know every casino in the upper Midwest."

His craving to sightsee satisfied, Rick is now director of a seminar program on world affairs at the University of Wisconsin Stillwater and regularly escorts tours to India and the Caribbean.

"Touring" also seems a second vocation for Dr.Rod (pathology at Chinese Hospital in San Francisco) and Betty Snow, who just concluded their 10th Dartmouth travel program trip, this one visiting Scotland, Ireland and France. Jim and Vicki Lust, who had broken away from life in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and winters in Palm Springs, were on the same trip. What Dartmouth tour is Rods favorite? "Antarctica," he says. "I would take that trip again in a heartbeat."

The class spring group trip to Belgium and Holland hosted by Jim Mueller is an early sellout, say Pam and Bill Long, probably because word has spread about how much fun and what good values these annual '59 trips are. Fortunately, the '59 golf tournament at Lemon Bay Golf Club, Boca Grande, and dinner on February 22, also a lot of fun and great value, is not sold out. If you want to participate, call Bill Colehower at (941) 964-2266.

Class president Chris Cundey received positive responses to his use of the '59 listserv email list to distribute occasional important news. If you want to be on Chris' distribution list, contact him at cjcundey@adelphia.net. Chris and class Webmaster Carlos Plummer see to it that your address is both secure and not overused.
