Wow! This place sure is a fertile country! Four letters, four sets of proud parents, four prospective class of 2025 graduates.
Susanne and John Muller proudly announced the birth of their first son, Aidan Thomas on November 19. Aidan weighed in at a healthy 8 pounds, 6 ounces.
Nicole Andres Carkner and husband Lee (RPI '92) took their first child, Grant Arthur, on the road for the holidays. Grant, as the first grandchild in the family, was the main attraction of the Carkners' end-of-the-year tour. What do you do for an encore next year? Nicole works in community health, directing the Quad City Health Initiative and Lee has just received tenure at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.
Next on baby call, Ted and Amy Wallace announced the New Year's Eve arrival of Liam Alexander. According to Ted, Liam is an absolute star and, at 5 weeks, under the constant supervision of attendant grandparents since day five, life has "not been as disastrously chaotic as it could otherwise be." Ted, Amy and Liam had been living in Windsor, United Kingdom, but are headed across the Irish Sea to head up a new tech center in Dublin for Amazon. He promises the freshest Guinness pints to any and all who visit his thumping game room in the keep of a restored 18th-century manor house.
Ted also sent word of Dave Kaiser. No, as far as I know there aren't little Kaisers bouncing about. That would be far more believable than the next piece of news. Ted swears this is true and I guess I'll have to believe him. Dave ran and completed a half-marathon.Ted even claims that there are photos to prove it. Evidently, even after 13.1 miles, Dave had yet to break a sweat. He did, however, use the time running to read three studies of the implications of proton-proton collisions on dark matter and electron-proton scattered long baseline neutrino oscillations.
The last baby news for this month comes from Bridget and George Calhoun. Ever fiscally prudent, Bridget delivered her second son, Jamie, on December 30, "just in time for the tax break." Jamie joins his 2 1/2-year-old brother, Luke, in keeping Bridget and George on their toes. Bridget is still practicing antitrust law, "though very part-time right now" for Crowell & Moring in Washington, D.C.
In D.C. Bridget runs into Sue (Walther) King and Donna Mulvihill and used to see Jennifer Schwartz. Jen just moved to Philadelphia with her husband, Josh Goldwert. Jen is an attorney working for Merck. Sue and her husband, Joe, devote their time to their 2-year-old Hayley. Sue does Web designing and consulting. Donna recently relocated back to D.C. after finishing law school. She is a litigator with Milbank Tweed.
Anita Tucker '92 asked me to pass along an open invitation to family picnics around the country this June. The '92s are inviting all alumni and family. Check out the Web page: www.dartmouth. org/classes/92/index.html.
So that's it for now. Send in your own baby news and not baby news and not news and let me know what's going on.
