The long, hot summer is over and my mail bag is full, so away we go on another season of recording a few items about the great class of '57. In perspective, the three month hiatus has been a very busy and productive time for '57's. So without further adieu, down to the business of reporting our progress.

Wedding bells are still ringing for the remaining '57 bachelors. Summer '65 represents quite a harvest season for the lovely lasses who have joined the '57 ranks. Last May, Ray Marks joined forces with Mary Ann Stevison at Princeton. N. J. After honeymooning in Europe, Ray and Mary Ann settled down in West Trenton. Attending the wedding were ushers Don Cowlbeck and Don Hutchins. Mary Ann is a graduate of Trenton Junior College and attended the University of Bridgeport.

June was the big month for Gene Vance and Christine Ann McDonald. But what a match this was. Gene married an Eli from Yale . .. Christine was a graduate student at Yale at the time of the marriage. And of course they were married at Yale's Dwight Chapel. Christine is also a Mt. Holyoke graduate.

Right now, Pete Meleney and Bodil Ronnaug Petterssen should be reciting the vows in Oslo, Norway. Bodil was graduated from Ulleval Hospital Nursing School in Oslo and also studied at the Art Institute in Chicago where I presume she met her spouse. Prior to the wedding, Pete spent the summer on the faculty of the Martha's Vineyard Summer Institute.

Mike King married Rebecca Draper in July. On hand for the occasion was LarrieCalvert. The newlyweds are now living in North Andover, Mass., where Mike is a master at the Brooks School.

Another member of the June wedding roster is Bill Davidow who married Sonja Carlson of Palo Alto, Calif. TODDLER: A message for all you lovely '57 spouses: where-oh-where is all that important news about recent offspring. Don't be shy - just send your birth announcements. From Japan comes news that BillBreer and wife presented Katherine Tully Breer to the world on July 9.

Monk and Marsha Bancroft became the proud parents of Alfred C. Bancroft III last April. Monk III raises the Bancroft toddler count to three. In a newsy letter which related the baby news, Monk mentioned that he is starting his second term as president of the Montclair Ski Club. If there are '57's in Monk's area who would be interested in some racing competition this winter, do contact Monk. He could use a couple of racers for the coming season. Monk also mentioned that Ed Nelson is the new golf coach at Nutley High School in New Jersey.

Received a note from Nick Tschelter who is still seeking the magic formula for little girls. Nick and Eve now have four boys - David 8, Jon 4, Stephen 3 and Mark 1. Well, Nick, there's not much I can say - you're the pediatrician. Besides his practice in pediatrics, Nick has been teaching at the University of Colorado Medical School and serves on the board of-the Denver Montessori School.

A class award for the most scholastic degrees must go to Dick Schramm - A.B., Dartmouth; B.M.E., Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 1959; M.P.I.A., University of Pittsburgh, 1962; M.S.E., Carnegie Tech, 1965. Dick is now working on a Ph.D. in economics at Carnegie Tech and according to the grapevine, plans to go to Europe for further study. Incidentally, somewhere between Pitt and Carnegie Tech, Dick managed to squeeze in a couple of years of OJT with Westinghouse. Meanwhile, back on the campus. . ..

The West Coast recently gained two expatriates from the East Coast: Bill Duvall switched from the steel industry (U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh) to the lumber industry in Oregon. Bill is presently associated with the Roseburg Lumber Co. as manager of Marketing Research. About the same time that Bill left Pittsburgh, Art Johnson departed from the New York scene and migrated with spouse to San Francisco. Art formerly was associated with Continental Can in New York.

Abbott's film was described as "an experimental film about place, birth and exploration." One of Abbott's previous films was selected for screening at the 1963 Brussels Film Festival.
