It is not news when another classmate travels to Hanover for a child's graduation, but it is news when travel is by bicycle! Dave Goodrich wrote that he is riding his bike from Rockville, Maryland, to attend the graduation of his daughter, Laura '05, on June 12. He will depart Maryland on Memorial Day and plans to arrive in Hanover on June 10, "knees, spokes and weather permitting." The 640-mile trip will take Dave around Baltimore to leave Maryland and then through seven other states. Along the way he will meet up with Jan Kublick, who will accompany Dave on the New York-New England leg of the journey. Dave and Jan also plan a stop in New York to visit Bill Beck. Dave is looking forward to a picture of Laura, Jan and himself on the Green in Hanover to cap off the trip. It is only a one-way trip though, because Dave leaves on Monday after Commencement to become the director of the global climate observing system office with the World Meteorological Organization of the UN in Geneva, Switzerland.

Andy Wexler wrote from home in southern California and again from Cambodia. Andy is a plastic surgeon dealing primarily with maxillofacial and craniofacial reconstruction as well as with congenital birth defects. He is a regional director with Kaiser Permanente and serves as a clinical professor in plastic surgery at USC. Andys wife, Geri, is a neuropsychologist. Their daughter, Becca, is a junior at George Washington University, and their daughter, Sarah, was accepted by Penn as a gymnastics recruit for next year. Andy wrote from Cambodia while volunteering with Operation Smile again this year to help children with facial deformities in developing countries. The medical team, which represented five different religions from 11 countries, operated on 120 children in five days. In addition to his surgical activities, Andy escorted her royal highness, the princess of Cambodia, through the medical site, and he visited Angkor Wat.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch, my local newspaper, recently listed real estate sales awards for 2004. Whit Wall earned the distinguished achiever award from the Richmond Association of Realtors for the 22nd consecutive year. He also earned Coldwell Banker International awards that placed him in the top 4 percent of more than 100,000 Coldwell Banker agents and brokers worldwide. After graduation Whit returned home to Richmond and entered the real estate business, where he is now a prominent realtor in the city and the surrounding area. Whit works with his wife, Pat. Their son is a junior at James Madison University and their daughter is a first-year art student at the University of Georgia.
