Every year at the end of the summer, after two weeks in New Hampshire, we drive home asking ourselves why we don't live in this part of the world all year long. It always comes down to the same troublesome query: "What would we do for workup there?" (A minor detail standing in the way of eternal serenity!) Anyone with the solution to this perpetual problem, let me know . . . and include news about yourself and classmates at the same time!

One from the "No-News" category, Dennis Albaugh seems to have finagled a home in paradise. Though I only have the '76 directory to go by, Dennis' address is listed as Winnisquam, N.H. Is this true, Dennis? And what do you do up there? (Do you need an assistant?) Rumor has it that Mary KayWalkush Beach is another New Hampshire local. Apparently, Mary Kay is affiliated with Business Appraisals Inc. and is living in Hanover's thriving suburb of Etna. So, you see, it can be done.

Texas A & M University Press recendy published a book by Stephen Shmanske, a professor of economics at California State University in Hayward. The book is entitled, PublicGoods, Mixed Goods, and Monopolistic Competition, Order your copy today, and get it autographed at the reunion next June!

As promised, I will also fill you in on the activities of Dana Rowan, who has been elected vice president for chapter administration for the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP). NAIOP is the association for commercial real-estate developers. Dana is responsible for acquisition and development of real estate projects nationwide for N.M. Palermo's investment clients and the company's own account. He lives in Boston, Mass.

Nancy and Peter Jeton have left Tokyo and moved back to Andover, Mass., with their children Eric 4 and Hannah 1. I'll bet that Cheryl Newman and family will miss them. Cheryl and her husband, Charley Wise '78, have been in Japan for six years. They now have three children, Lisa, Alexander, and William.

Another ex-pat Dartmouth family is living in Holland. John Glover and his wife, Custis '79, have been living in Wassenaar, Netherlands for over a year, with their children John and Amy. John (the papa) is working for International Distillers and Vintners in Amsterdam, as director of Sambuca Romana brand.

I received news from just across the border that Brewer Doran left California and has been living in Montreal for about a year. She is pursuing her doctorate in organizational behavior and marketing at McGill University. She's also manager of flight operations for Aviation Planning Services, an aviation consulting firm.

Jody Karp and Dave Magnus sent a March "holiday" letter which included a cherubic photo of 18-month-old Ben. Jody also invites classmates to come visit them in Corrales, NM. The Balloon Fiesta is in October, so pack your cameras and bathing suits and give them a call!

Next month, Reggie Williams, ReggieWilliams, and YOU! This month's no-news-is-no-news nominees include: Marian Chambers, Kat Clute, Eric Copenhaver, and JerryDaly. Please send news so I don't have to make it up!

"Canadians and Americans face the unprecedentedly urgent and massive educational task of re-educating their respective societies in the ways of honest-to-God accommodation, mutual respect of differences and, above all, of effective equality in opportunity in national life . . ."John S. Dickey, 1969,from Convocation Address at the University ofToronto, as quoted by James Freedman in his address to the alumni, May 17, 1991.
