Apress release from Marsh announced that Bob Atwell has joined its San Diego office as seniorvice president and sales executive responsible for business development. Bob has spent more than 30 years in the insurance and financial services industries. He went to Marsh from BNC Corp. in Phoenix, where he was senior vice president for national sales. Bob started his career with General Reinsurance Corp. in New York after Dartmouth. He and his wife, LaGayle, reside in Mission Hills, California.

I called Pam Petrequin in April to wish her happy double-nickel birthday just a few days after I had celebrated my own. Pam and her husband, Dan Ringsred '76, live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dan is an investment advisor for RBC Dain Rauscher. Pam earned her Ph.D. in biology from the University of Minnesota and now teaches at Mount Mary College. Pam and Dan have three sons: Patrick, who graduated from Notre Dame and now lives in Philadelphia; Michael, who studies at Winona State; and Thomas, who just graduated from Marquette University's boys' high school.

News was light as usual, so I tracked down two of my old Alpha Chi buddies to see what they have been doing. Dave Laube was in the middle of moving from Illinois to Pittsfield, Maine, where he is the new manager of GE's fire alarm and detection systems plant there. Dave went from Dartmouth to the University of North Carolina for an M.B.A. Then he joined GE and has been with them for the past 31 years. Dave and his wife, Pa tricia, met at GE. Patricia has been teaching industrial technology at Eastern Illinois University. Dave and Pat have three daughters, one a rising senior at Beloit College in Wisconsin, one a rising first year at Eastern Illinois and the third a rising junior in high school. Now that Dave is back in New England, he is looking forward to visiting Hanover again.

Jon Blum came to Dartmouth from Pennsylvania. After graduating from Villanova law school he moved back close to home, where he has lived since 1978. Jon practices criminal law and specializes in defending death penalty cases. He and his wife have a daughter, who graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Bates College and now teaches in Switzerland, and a son, who just graduated from Babson College with a degree in marketing.

Only a few days remain in this year's Dartmouth College Fund drive. If you haven't already made a contribution, please act immediately to help our class achieve our goal of a 73 percent participation rate.
