So. No doubt many of you noticed that the last DAM issue (which arrived in your mailbox toward the end of April, right about the same time that I was writing this column) contained no news of the class of 1998. Others of you may have noticed that the issue before that contained half-truths and fullblown lies that, but for the satirical nature of the prose, may have left the author open to a claim of libel. (On this last point, let me clear the record: Cary Allen lives in London and is in fact a woman—a fact that, sadly, escaped me and slipped by the fact-checkers—and has never found herself stuck in a charity clothing bin; Hank Brier has never been arrested for driving under the influence of anything, and I'll throw down with anyone who says otherwise; and Alex Buck, as far as I know, has never ridden a motorcycle, much less at 205 mph.)

All of this points irrevocably to one of two conclusions: Either (a) none of you are doing anything with your lives or (b) you are, but you're just not telling me about it. Getting news out of you, dear classmates, is like pulling teeth (hence the complete absence of column Hardon-the-heels of my dalliance with fiction). I invite you to write in with news of yourselves or others—this is your space, but I can't fill it with-out you.

From Tara Swanson (nee Riley) comes news that she and husband Erik Swanson will shortly be relocating to the greater Boston area—the tony suburbs of Newton and Needham top the list of towns where the couple might be spotted house hunting—where Tara has secured a cardiology fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital (after having completed a pediatric residency at Yale). Tara and Erik will be accompanied by kids Jake (a bulldog) and Grover (a gray cat).

David Mace, currently in his second year at Harvard Business School, wrote in to let us know that he proposed to HBS classmate Sterling Garretson (UVA '96) in January while the two were traveling in China. The wedding will be held in August at an undisclosed location in Seattle, after which the couple plan to settle in San Francisco.

And finally, in her own words (she's a reporter, after all): Public radio reporter Jaime Bedrin married newsman Scott Dodd (Penn State '94) last October in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. Lots of Dartmouth folks were in attendance, including Randi Barnes, Tal Kadar, Robyn Brown, Michelle Kraemer, Deb Jennings '79 (and Jaime's high school French teacher to boot), Anne Sunderland, Adam Siegel, Christine Cuoco, Holly Eaton and Caroline Timbers. It was apparently quite the Dartmouth weekend for getting hitched—another alumnus of the College Jesse Israel '96, was also married the same weekend in the Garden State. One couple reportedly had to split-up (albeit temporarily) in order to attend both weddings: Jaime's first-year roommate Melissa Davis attended the Bedrin-Dodd affair while husband Rick Kim '96 attended Ms. Israel's wedding.
