In response to the call of our president, Pete Webster, a few of you sent in some news for this column and I hope that I will have sufficient fodder to send out another newsletter sometime in the fall with news of our upcoming reunion.

Nels Armstrong, always a font of information, reports that he was fortunate to see Paul Robb and his wife, Linda, recently in Pittsburgh. They attended the local alumni club reception for President Wright. In addition, Nels saw Bob Pinderhughes in Washington, D.C. Bob has recently married and now resides in Baltimore.

Sheldon Perry reports that he is still making high-end, custom residential cabinetry in New Hampshire. The majority of his work is custom kitchen cabinetry for residences in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire and the greater Boston area. Sheldon keeps in shape by hiking in the White Mountains and playing tennis. He is married to Nina and has two children—Erica, age 14, and Reid, age 17—who don't mind hanging around with their parents.

John Wason sent in some sad news of the death of another classmate. Mark Howard passed away unexpectedly in early April at his home in Lebanon, New Hampshire. John did not know the cause of death, just that Mark passed out and he could not be revived: John and Mark became close friends while sharing adjoining rooms in an off-campus house during winter term 1971. During the past couple of reunions three or four of our classmates met at Marks house for what John described as an "alternative" reunion.

Michael Fay is still a hardworking attorney in Boston. His oldest child, Matthew, graduated from the College in June, and he will be followed by his sister Kathryn, who will be entering the freshman class in the fall (class of 2009). Mike will continue to have a close relationship with the bursar of the College, though he will have a brief respite in that child No. 3, Christopher, is entering seventh grade this September.

John Keller writes that he is about a generation behind most of us in that his first (and last) little guy, Lucas, just turned 14 months old John relates that being a dad in his 20s, 30s or 40s would have been a disaster, but now it's a blast. John resides with his wife, Martha, and son in Walnut Creek, California, where all are healthy and he estimates that he will be able to retire in another 25 years.

Another reminder to mark your calendars for our 35th reunion June 12-15, 2006. Plan to get there early and see the renovated Class of 1971 Benton Bunkhouse (one of our class projects) at the Ravine Lodge.
