Greetings '96s!

It seems my plea for news in the last issue has borne some fruit. While much of the news comes directly from our executive committee members whom I get to pester on a regular basis, kudos to Matt Carlson for his unsolicited missive, announcing the birth of his son Joshua. Matt and his wife, Joanna, welcomed the lad on March 6. As it took several e-mails to learn the little tyke's name, I suspect Matt and Joanna are still a bit sleep-deprived.

Also enjoying mild hallucinations and other joys of parenthood are Simon and Lanea Tripp. They welcomed Braden Zachary on May 8. Lanea reports, "So farwe are all doingvery well. Brady is sleeping and eating well and Nora [the dog] is adjusting admirably."

Kimberly Haring barely missed a step as class president after welcoming her son Thomas on June 29. She missed only one executive committee conference call—now that is dedication.

Sara Paisner and her husband, Howard Mendelowitz, welcomed Harry into the world on July 3. The family has moved from Albany, New York, to North Carolina, where Sara will be starting a new job after taking some months off to enjoy motherhood.

Abig welcome to Baby Chang-Stein, who arrived on May 29. Isabel Yi Jue Stein, daughter of Maggie Chang and Zack Stein, weighed in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces and stretched 22 inches from tip to toe. Zack reports that Margaret was able to breathe her way through unimaginable pain and deliver her first child sans epidural while he managed to not pass out. Bravo!

Finally, parenting pros Dave and Beth Mattingly, who are living the good life in New Hampshire, are expecting their third child any minute as I type this. Look for an update next issue.

Neesha Ramchandani has once again outdone herselfwith '96 news. She writes that Josh Marks recently married Katie LaForgia '97. Neesha asks, "Josh, now that you're married, will you resurface again?" Josh, take a hint. Drop Neesha a line.

Neesha also reports that Jen Frontera, M.D., accepted a position as an attending physician at Mount Sinai Hospital in N.Y.C. in "neuro-something-or-other." She also has two cats, one of whom likes to sit in the bathroom sink and hiss at anyone who enters!

Neesha is enjoying her own successes. She writes, "I and my team of four others, including Cynthia Vodopivec '98, rode 50-plus miles in New Hampshire in May to raise money for diabetes. Our team is called Have Bike, Will Ride." After nineyears of participating in this event borrowing other people's bikes, I finally got my own!" Having recovered from pedaling through the White Mountains, she presented a poster at the American Diabetes Associations 66th scientific sessions in Washington, D.C., on her latest research on children with diabetes. The paper about her research is due to be published as of August 2006.

Finally, Shannon Smith, R.N., is working as a nurse in San Francisco while finishing her studies to become a nurse practitioner. Once she graduates, she will be joining the ranks of' 96 N.P.s along with Neesha and Liz Kalyvas Miller.

Congratulations to Kathy Domingo, who completed her doctoral degree last November at the University of Indiana. Earlier this year she started a chemo choir in Indiana, which from personal experiences. She writes, "I will be working hard to establish a nonprofit organization whose mission is to heal the body, mind and spirit through music, providing people with a creative form of expression while dealing with the rigors of chemotherapy."

Keep the news coming. Until next time....
