Kate (Weiss) Rubenstein and Dustin Rubenstein '99 have moved to the Bay Area. While Dustin was getting his Ph.D. in neurobiology and behavior at Cornell University, Kate finished her M.B.A. in 2005 at Cornell's Johnson Graduate School of Management. After spending the past year living in Stamford, Connecticut, the couple moved to San Francisco in July Dustin will be starting a Miller Fellowship at Berkeley and work in the Integrative Biology Department. Kate is in her second and final year of a sales and marketing leadership program at GE, and after rotations in aircraft leasing and venture finance in Stamford she will be working for the Gap Inc.'s private label credit card team in San Francisco.
Sara Becker and her boyfriend of more than fouryears Marcin Szajda (Rice '99) were married in Durham, North Carolina, on May 28. "Our ceremony at the Duke University chapel was followed by an evening of'Sheba-worthy' dancing at a contemporary restaurant with fellow'oosLyndsay Harding, Allison Joseph, Renae Stockton, Molly Cronin, Katie Greer, Jarrod Bowland, Viktoria Titcomb (formerly Zoltay), Andy Garrison, Jaimie and Aaron Meyer, Allison and lan Rose and Amy and Rob Mitchell. After a two-week honeymoon in Hawaii I have resumed studies as a fourth-year graduate student in Dukes clinical psychology Ph.D. program and Marcin has begun employment with the private investments group of the UNC Management Co. We were excited to see many of our Dartmouth friends again this summer at the weddings of Renae Stockton and Todd Nichols, Yana Shaw and James Little and Andy Garrison and Courtney MacLean."
Ben Pratt married Dr. Fei Liu during Memorial Day Weekend in an outdoor wedding on Cape Cod. Dartmouth alums in attendance included Amy Gately (Ben's sister), Eddie Le (a groomsman), Eric Andersen (a groomsman), Ryoji Takeyama, Marcus Simpson (photographer) and Jeet Sohal '01. "The wedding was beautiful, particularly the speech of Bens father, Alex 'Sandy' Pratt '67. We took our honeymoon surfing in Fiji and live together outside San Diego. On a funny note, the Dartmouth alums didn't want the party to stop so when the reception ended, we rolled over to a bowling alley for midnight beers and bowling."
On June 24 Megan Slocum and Frank Black got married in the hills of Santa Cruz. A number of Dartmouth alums were there to celebrate the big day for the couple, who met while earth science majors at Dartmouth. While sipping margaritas to the music of a mariachi band, there was lots of time to catch up and party the night away. Other Dartmouth alums who made the trip included Ellie Off, Catherine Ware Kilduff, Antje Herlyn, Sebastian Barreveld, Ryan Padilla, Mike Regan and Melanie Kay. Congrats to Megan and Frank!
David Chamberlain and his wife, Meredith, welcomed a son into the world on July 31. David Caverly Chamberlain IV weighed in at 7 pounds, 12 ounces. "If he's anything like the previous three Davids he will be headed up to Hanover in 18 years!" Congratulations!
Last, but certainly not least, Katie Roda was engaged in August in Boston to Adam Green (Syracuse '99) after more than four years of dating. Katie is in her second year at Yale School of Management after spending the summer in Seattle with an internship at Microsoft. Congratulations!
