Fall is finally here, which for me means one thing—football! Fortunately, the rest of you have more exciting things happening.
Kristin Weekley wrote in to let me know she was getting married on September 9 to Tony Del Signore, a Brandeis alum. "We are having a small wedding but I am expecting Amish Parashar, Ithan Peltan, Kathleen Reeder, Hilary Alvarez, Alex Streeter, Jonathan Hollander and Rachel Wolfe there." Also on the wedding bells front, Sarah Grisin sentword from Washington, D.C., that she and Josh Fougere recendy got engaged. Best wishes to both couples!
From California Adam Kaplan wrote, "I'm living in Manhattan Beach and about to start law school at University of California, Los Angeles. This summer I've had the pleasure of sharing my place with my girlfriend Robin Quarrier. It's been wonderful, especially considering that my only occupation is surfing. I've downed many beers with Andy Bailey and enjoy catching shows by the newly formed power trio 'The Quick Six,' with Wes Self'02, Steve De Vecchi '01 and Eric Hogenson '01." Also checking in from the West Coast was Kamil Walji. "I've just moved to Los Angeles to start the master's of art program in strategic public relations at the Annenberg School for Communication at University of Southern California. I plan on focusing on international nongovernmental organizations and corporate public relations in the Middle East and China. To that end I'm also studying Arabic and Chinese and look forward to working in Dubai or Shanghai this coming summer."
John V. Campbell was in Hong Kong a while back and noticed that KING Magazine is in circulation even over there. He penned a feature interview and article for the August edition of KING. "The piece discusses Reggie Bush: His generational gridiron talents, his newfound role as New Orleans' savior, his 'Credo Quia Absurdum' torchbearer status as South East San Diego's (or the 6195) latest marquee tailback (among others that hail from the neighborhood: Marcus Allen, Rashaan Salaam, Terrell Davis, Ricky Williams)." I, for one, amvery jealous of John's job. However, I did randomly meet Chris McAlister of the Baltimore Ravens at Chipotle last week. That will do for now.
Katie Lunquist checked in as well recently. "I am still working and having fun in Princeton, New Jersey I have infiltrated the Princeton University IM softball leagues and even recruited Jill Haltigan to play a game with me! Dartmouth's fields and organization are far superior though! At the end of April I went to Portugal with Natalie Ostrander to visit friends we made while studying abroad in Stockholm for our engineering degrees. Wehit the highlights on our week-long adventure: drank port wine in Porto, visited Fatima and I even dragged Nat to a soccer game!"
Congratulations are in order for Ronne Adkins who wrote to say, "I graduated from the Johns Hopkins University on May 26.1 received a masters of science in environmental sciences and policy."
Finally, I caught up with Matthew Jungers, who was gearing up for the bachelor party he'll be throwing for Patrick Granfield. Sounds like it will be a fun reunion for lots of Dartmouth friends. He also mentioned that Ivan Hernandez had a fantastic time traveling with Adam Kipp in India this past summer.
