According to the weatherman spring is here, but baseball fans in Cleveland may beg to differ and our own Steve Winship can attest to six inches of April snow in his neck of the woods. Steve and Lucy dusted off their skis and snowshoes to take advantage of the unusual weather. They also plan to get together with Valerie Nelson and Joan Frondorf, widows of Nels and Bob, respectively. Here in Sarasota Doug Atwood and I can vouch for warm weather(80s) as we get ready for our yearly hurricanes. Doug, as 1941 baseball manager in Hanover, had unrewarded hopes of catching the present team as they came through the area on a tight schedule, 10 games in 11 days. Don and Pat Stillman reported up the road apiece (Longwood, Florida) on favorable weather but a lingering problem with Don's narrowing of a spinal canal. Ed Stone in Wakefield, Massachusetts, reported that his horse, named Unc Richardson, is coming up in May from winter training in Florida and should be ready to try the tracks in New England in July. Cheers to all.
