Not much news about classmates this month of August as I write this. I did have an e-mail from Bill Judd saying, "I'm hanging in there as I intend to get a lot of things done!" Good for him—he's very lucky. Sadly, your president and my husband, Em Day, is now in a nursing home as I was hospitalized briefly and my sons felt I could not care for him at home. It was very tough for both of us. His mind is okay but his legs have given out. If you want to write or call him here's the information: HCR-ManorCare, 432 Poplar Drive, Wilmette, IL 60091. Phone: (847) 256-5000 and they will connect you to his room. You've lost another classmate Sam Carson. He was a wonderful fellow. His obituary is in this issue.
The good news for the class is that it raised more money than any other class between 1935 and 1951. This year participation was 61.5 percent, compared to 53.8 percent last year. A special thanks to Stan Smoyer, who is a colossal head agent!
