The class of my son Dan Scherman '83 has just had its 25th reunion. For about two months before 1934's 25th my beau Bill Scherman informed me that he had no time to see me as he was busy helping with the 25th yearbook. I chalked that up as the weakest excuse I'd ever heard from anyone!

The knowledge that many Dartmouth grads were fanatically loyal to their alma mater, no matter what, hadn't reached me yet. Some '34 widows also caught "the fever." Irja Wilson and Mary Engelman come to mind and, of course, Bernice Cohen was most gracious to tackle the class newsletter as well as continuing to work with Bill Judd on the gifts and bequests program. It is our loss that Bernice has decided she can no longer continue. Dartmouth awarded her Class Newsletter Editor of the Year not long ago. We, as a class, thank her so very much for a great job. I haven't been overwhelmed by mail from any of you and truly hope you'll write now and then. Did have a lovely note from Bob Griffin's widow, Marge, reminiscing about the many good times with classmates.

Sadly, I received a note from Boardman Veazie's wife, Lydia, reporting that Board died suddenly in February. She enclosed a delightful photo of both of them. Wish we could reproduce it here. Hank Bryan died on May 14. For years he faithfully attended all 1934 events. Obituaries are in this issue.
