Hon. William N. Cohen, LL.D., 63 Wall St., New York, has been elected class president in place of the late Thomas W. Proctor, LL.D., of Boston, Mass., who held the office from 1889 to the time of his death, June 30, 1931. Judge Cohen has had a long and very successful career as a lawyer in New York city. He has always been a most loyal and enthusiastic son of Dartmouth College and a very generous contributor to the financial support of the College.
Mr. and Mrs. Ladoit Derby celebrated their golden wedding on Christmas Day at their home in Marshalltown, lowa, where they have resided since 1893. Mrs. Derby had the misfortune to break her right arm December 21, and Mr. Derby's health is not good, so no public celebration was held, but their twin sons, Lewis E. and Lee M. Derby of Minneapolis, Minn., were with them, and a very handsome leaflet announcement was issued, containing photographs of Mr. and Mrs. Derby, the sons and their wives and the five grandchildren. "Diver," as his classmates knew him, was one of six men who entered Dartmouth in the class of 1879 from Northfield, Vt. He and Harry B. Thayer, LL.D., are the only ones of the six still living. For thirteen years after graduation he was a public school teacher in Illinois and lowa. After that he was in the flour and feed business for a number of years, and served as city clerk of Marshalltown from 1903 to 1911.
Secretary, 72 South St., Proctor, Vt.
