Alfred E. Watson, class agent, had a very narrow escape from drowning this summer shortly after his class reunion. While at his summer cottage he went to a nearby reservoir to secure water, and in descending a ladder, the rung broke and dropped him into the deep cistern, where it was almost impossible to escape as his ankle was broken by the fall. His cries, however, brought a passing motorist to his aid in time to remove him to the Dartmouth Hospital, where he remained for several days. Later he was removed to his home in Hartford, Vt., and was soon able to resume his business activities.
