ANOTHER ANNUAL MEETING of our AssoL ciation, at the University Club—most successful! President Hopkins came to witness it, and gave us one of the most inspiring talks ever. He saw genial, gracious Guy Wallick '21 retire in favor of incoming "Prexy" Ritchie Smith '26 in one of the most impressive exhibitions of loyalty to Dartmouth College we have had. The clan had collected from all over Northern California—Lester Gibson '04 from San Luis Obispo (250 miles)— Walter Hayt '78, always on deck, from Lincoln, and others closer in to total sixty-six. "Mort" Crowell '29 was elected Vice President, "Abe" Winslow '20 Secretary, with "Dave" Smith '35 Assistant Secretary. San Francisco never fails at election time with Lincoln Wilson '13 as Chairman of the Nominating Committee.
It was a distinct honor to have both Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins visit us this time, and what could be more appropriate than a reception at classmate "Bob" Leavens' home in Berkeley on the day they arrived. About one hundred Dartmouth men and wives were present, and we say "hats off' to Mrs. Leavens and others of our tribe on Yosemite Road (Smiths and Wentworths) who came in to assist.
Travelling Dartmouth men please note: Luncheons in San Francisco as usual everyMonday—Marconi's. Watch for "Squeaks!" Strike is over—the Golden Gate is opening wide, and a shipload of green ink is on the way.
