Mr. and Mrs. John Brooks spent the summer as usual at John's old home in Eliot, Me. Bearing up as well as can be expected under the honor of having been the oldest graduate in attendance at Commencement in June, he is planning to repeat in 1955.
The secretary and Mrs. Austin are proud to welcome a second great-granddaughter, Patricia Ann, born July 31, daughter of Robert H. Austin '40 and granddaughter of Herbert S. Austin '14, both of Wellesley, Mass.
Frank Allard, if he were living, would be very proud of his grandson, Frank Allard Brooks, who graduated at Amherst, his father's college, magna cum laude, was elected Phi Beta Kappa, won a prize for the best essay in Religion and a graduate fellowship which he will use at Hartford Theological Seminary this coming year.
Another '85 grandson, Edwin Bayley Buchanan, Lieutenant junior grade Medical Corps, United States Naval Reserve, was married at Beverly, Mass., on August 2 to Agnes Klug Tait.
