More 45's are reported to be new editions to the teaching staff on Hanover Plain. TomMurray has joined the Economics Department as an instructor. George Rice is helping out in Psychology and Phil Hildreth is instructing in Zoology,

Mo Monahan appeared in the Eastern AllStars line-up under Tuss's direction in New York last month against the New York Football Giants. This was a fitting end to a spectacular collegiate sports career. Mo picked up three letters in football and at least two letters in basketball while at Dartmouth besides playing some lacrosse and doing some track work. After the 1943 football season Mo was given All-American ratings. Mo is married, and he and wife Shirley have two children.

Bob Cate is now located in Calcutta, India, in the office of the American Consulate General. I hope to get some word from Bob on his first-hand observation of free India.

At least three members of our class have returned to Hanover to work at Mary Hitchcock during the coming year. My list includes Howie Sawyer, Don Cole, and John VanBur en.

As Bob Allen mentioned in the last newsletter, we certainly are well represented in the medical profession. Dr. Pete Beck is at Mary Fletcher Hospital in Burlington, Vermont. Dr.Dick Carlin is serving at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Dr. Phil Lewis is working at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. And while all this doctoring is going on Bob Wilcox is an administrative intern at San Jose Hospital in California.

My mother wrote me (at least I got one letter this month) that Doctor Andrew had called me at home. It seems that Jim is interning at Harper Hospital and that he had come to the big city of Tiffin for a hot week-end. Too bad. Jim Broderick is working the New Jersey territory as a salesman for the Clary Company, manufacturers and distributors of business machines. I would like to see old Bones at work peddling his bill of goods. Jim is living near Philadelphia, which is where the home office of his company is located.

That is about all of the personal news I have for this time. I hope to do better next month.

By this time you have all seen the results of this year's Alumni Fund drive. I do not want to go into the statistics of the thing now. However, I do want to thank every one in the class who directly or indirectly helped make our total contribution possible. Some of you put in a lot of time, others put in a lot of money, and some did both. Whatever aid you gave you deserve a bit of personal thanks.

Another bit of information which may or may not have been made clear concerns the change in date of our first official reunion. According to the new plan recently adopted by the College, 1945 will assemble in Hanover during the summer of 1951 for the official Fifth Reunion. This gives us an extra year to plan for and to finance a wonderful get-together. The main reason for the shift in the old schedule was to allow for a class to celebrate its various reunions together with the classes which were in school at the same time. This has all been described in detail in earlier issues of this magazine. If any of you have questions about this send them along to me (along with some present information about yourself) and I will try to find the answer for you.

And then there is the important little matter about our class dues. Rod Walser will be glad to accept your five dollars at any time. Seriously, we can have a very enjoyable reunion if we have enough money. As I understand it, this will be our last appeal for funds until the reunion. I am not going to say any more about it. That happy job belongs to Rod.

When I took this job last May I vowed that there would be some news in the ALUMNIMAGAZINE about the Class of 1945 every month. And that is my promise. I am not begging for help already, but I would like to have something in here about each one of you. You can tell me a lot on a penny postcard.

See you next month.
