It had been our plan to begin this issue with a roundup of Midwestern news for HassWarrener, and finish it off with lengthy excerpts from Bob Barvoets' newsy open letter to George Sims. But, alas and alack, M. Barvoets" letter has not yet been received, and the MAGAZINE editor has requested that copy for this issue be kept "as concise as possible," to give him room to print the longest Alumni Fund contributor lists in history. Sadly, then, we confine ourselves to reading the announcements. Concise is the watchword.
The first announcement this month comes from our treasurer. He, Ginger, and Donna are pleased to report, somewhat belatedly, the birth of a beautiful baby girl, Pamela Wheaton, on last July 21 at Rye, N. Y.
The second announcement this month comes from our treasurer, a married man with two children. He asks that we devote a bit of space to requesting you all to pay your class dues. As we understand it, the time, paper, printing and postage which would be involved in billing you laggards once more would wipe out such profit as the treasurer derives from this annual pastime. Will those of you who have not come through please consider this a bill. Get it up! Pamela needs shoes.
Our third and last announcement comes from The Chairman of the Executive Committee. Faced with the choice of finding a 1939 Memorial Fund chairman or taking the job himself, Our Peerless Leader has risen to the occasion. He wishes to announce that he is preparing an announcement on the matter, to be sent to all members of the class in the near future. Dust off your Rosetta Stone, and hold your breath!
That is all for this month. Now read on and see if your old roomies contributed to the 1954 Alumni Fund—just like you did.
