The news in New York this fall is Mr.Harry Enders '29 and company.
As president, Harry heads the new slate of club officers for the '51 -'52 season. The new vice-president and secretary are Donald F.McCall '27 of Scarsdale and Kenneth C. Quencer '23 of Bronxville respectively. George N.Farrand '33 of Upper Montclair is continuing in office as treasurer (a position which Harry Enders held in 1948 and 1949).
Retiring from office, after having served the By-Law limit of two one-year terms are JibDingwall '16, president; Jack Davis '25, vicepresident; and Ken Murray '27, secretary.
In a recent letter to the membership, incoming President Enders wrote: "Jib Dingwall and his Board have left us the strongest alumni club which the College has ever had. Its membership is at an all time high—over 1500—its facilities have been enlarged and improved, and its financial position is sound. John Dickey has called the Club 'a unique asset in the service of both the College and the Dartmouth fellowship.' A particularly fine job toward developing and strengthening this asset has been done in the past two years by Jib and his group and the thanks of all of us are here extended to them.
Nichol M. Sandoe '19 was chairman of the committee which proposed the Enders slate. Nick's committee also proposed three new members to the nine-man Board of Governors —James D. LancLauer '23, Theodor Swanson '27, and John U. Grande 11 '40. They were duly elected last June.
The six Governors whose terms have not yet expired are Howard M. Chapin '28, JamesA. Field '45, Carl Ray '37, Herbert MortonBall '29, John E. Foster '23, and Harold J.Eckhardt '42.
CLUB WINS GOLF TOURNEY
Paced by Richard B. Hadley '39, the Dartmouth Club's hand-mashie contingent annexed this year's College Clubs' Golf Tournament, held at the Apawamis Club in Rye. This is the first time in 14 years that a club other than Yale or Princeton has won this event. Hadley's 75 also gave Dartmouth top individual honors.
