Valentine Frolics: On lucky Friday, the 13th of February, several hundred members, their guests and wives enjoyed a Valentine's Eve tea dance at the Dartmouth Club, to the tune of Alvy West and his radio ensemble. The younger set appeared to hold sway numerically, but held no edge in enthusiasm over those whose years are measured by their waistlines. A delightful time was had by all.
To the dismay of the followers of Culbertson, the Big Green entry in the College Clubs' Bridge League viewed the final standings from the cellar position. "Too much Canasta!" states Capt. Dick Rubens '23, "But We Shall Return!" Rumor has it that a few former stalwarts have been taken in by the cribbage group holding solemn sessions in the Woodrow Wilson Library.
On the brighter side, the "C" squash team, rallying behind Ort "Iron Man" Hicks '21, has moved into the first division in its league, with a brilliant record of 22 victories in 35 individual matches.
Always nice to,see visitors at the Club. During the past two months Hanover has been well represented by Justin Stanley, vice president of the College, Joe Sullivan '49, NickSandoe Jr. '45, George Colton '35, Bill McCarter '19 and his right-hand man, SnuffySmith '41. In from duty in the Pacific and on his way to rougher duty in Boston was Ensign Dick "Speed" Leggat '48.
A gathering of the Class of 1920 paid honor to their distinguished classmate, ShermanAdams, about whom you may have heard.
