That B lay lock Atherton has announced his intention of seeking the Republican nomination for Governor of New Hampshire in 1952 probably is not news to those living in and around that State but may be news to more distant dwellers. Currently president of the State Senate, Blay has been a member of New Hampshire's General Court for the past 15 years, first in the House of Representatives and then in the Senate.

On the eve of the Dartmouth-Harvard game this year we held a dinner at which wives were included. It seemed to be a popular departure from the pattern of stag parties and likely will be tried again a year hence. Held in the private dining room of the Red Coach Grill on Stanhope Street, Boston, dinner was preceded by a cocktail hour and followed by the showing of films from Hanover depicting high lights of Dartmouth football games of the 1950 season. In attendance were GrayBates (Dorothy couldn't make it), the Carters,Cohns, Hights, Hoyts, Lelands, Sands, SpennySmiths, Bullens and the Larry Farnhams, who had as guests their son Bill and friends from Nashville, Mrs. Jewell and her son.
Dinner and an evening of sociability at the home of Carter and Allie Hoyt after the Harvard game was given a 1922 reunion appearance by the presence of Spenny and MarjeSmith, Bob and Alma Hight, Haskell andHarriet Cohn, Dick and Dorothy Stetson,Walt and Doris Sands, Odie Lee and your scribe.
Football, foliage and undergraduate sons attracted these folks to Hanover in October: Stewie and Louise Stearns, Killy and Elizabeth Kilmarx, Bob and Alma Hight, Dick andMary Litchfield, Bob and Grace Clark, Waltand Doris Sands.
It is my sad duty to record here the death on October 10 of Kip Orr in a nursing home at Enfield, N. H. This or a succeeding issue of the MAGAZINE will carry an obituary notice.
