Among other things the midshipmen learn in Hanover is how to fight fire under practical conditions. They go into action shoulder by shoulder with the Hanover Fire Department against conflagrations under controlled conditions in the gravel pits made possible through the courtesy of Halsey Edgerton.

Fred Jones is back again in politics. He has been elected a representative to the State Legislature.

At the annual dinner of the New England Traffic Association held in Boston February 1, two of the notables sitting at the head table were Ned French and Joe Nuelle.

Shorty Davis is spending a couple of weeks in Dick's House.

Although Chub Chase was scheduled to retire this spring the Utah Copper Cos. has requested him to stay on another year at least. He manages to keep busy as he has general medical charge of some 9,000 employees. He wrote Max that sundown in Bingham Canyon is one of the most beautiful sights on earth. He is planning to be in Hanover in 1952 and hopes all the other '06ers will be present as he has seen very few of them since graduation.

If you haven't mailed your Alumni Fund check to Max please attend to it. The College needs our support more than ever this year.
