Now that Kefauver & Company... have left the world to darkness, and... the realities of life's little performances, we'll proceed with the monthly statement.
Bucky Brandt is being pushed in the race for the propagation of Dartmouth heroes. The Don Pfeifles made a splendid effort came up fast with their third and fourth sons on February 21,... identical twins, Louis and Harold scaled in respectively at 7 lbs., 6 oz. and 7 lbs., 4 oz. The Brandt platoon numbered four last Oct. 4 when young Dennis joined the contest. But don't overlook the JohnBerrys. No front runners, they ... John and Marge are coasting with three sons, John, George and David.
Don modestly remarked "... mother and babies doing well; father recuperating slowly." But then, one shouldn't expect triplets.
At last count approximately 28 men from the class were in service. Boston Bob McLaughry is now Capt. Bob McLaughry, USMC. Bob had quite a distinguished flying career in the last war as you all probably know. Jim Elliot is with the Adjutant General's Office in Washington, D. C.... Capt.Fred Hickey, field artillery man, has a N. Y. APO number. ... Dr. Bill Stahl is Capt. Bill Stahl, U. S. Medical Corps. Before leaving for active service Bill was given a gala farewell banquet by the Danbury Medical Society. He's married and has two youngsters. JimRudnick is back "separating the men from the boys".... Major Dick Paul has been doing a bit of junketing ... to quote:
"I just returned from 'wintering' in Korea after having just had time at Benning to change my banana- and coffee-stained Brazilian shirt. The 15th Infantry Regiment, part of the U. S. 3rd Infantry Division, moved out of- Benning on the double when this Korean fracas started, and before you could say 'Can do,' I found myself shipping out of 'Frisco and en route to the 'Exotic Orient.' We landed in Northeastern Korea at Wonsan in the month of November and fought the rearguard action to protect the evacuation of the X Corps from Hungnam. I started out in the 2nd Battalion of the 15th Infantry and ended up in the G-3 Section as assistant operations officer at Division Headquarters.
"Then after a Christmas present in the form of a lift (and hot shower!) from the U. S. Navy to Pusan we started all over again just south of Seoul. At that time I was transferred to the Korean Military Advisory Group and assigned a battalion of Koreans from the 19th Regiment of the 6th Korean Division, at that time in the line northwest of Wonju. Each Korean unit has American advisors who oversee the operations of their par- ticular unit. After several successful engagements with the Chinese as a junior Nester (though not from Pylus) I was given a regiment as senior advisor to the second Infantry Regiment (Korean Army). It was while in this capacity I received a most welcome message to report to the rear for shipment to the USA."
Dick is now at Oklawaha warming up his voice and command before taking on his new assignment... and Battalion, 3rd Infantry at Fort McNair, Washington, D. C.

They've even got orientation and language courses for the ladies. Loren's got his wife Renetta enrolled in the "Blast for Any Occasion" seminar.
All of which brings us back to the home front and the assorted facets of paying off a mortgage. Dick Meyer is down in Midland, Tex., with the Humble Oil Company ... perhaps the most unappropriately named com- pany in America.... Dan Donovan has joined the U. S. Government bond trading department of J. G. White & Co. in Wall St. He was formerly with Blair Rollins and Cos. NeedleAllen is pretty much in the same line, promenading for Briggs and Schaedle, also of "the" Street.... Brack Hazen is with American Home Foods in NYC... in the Advertising and Promotion end I believe. He had his own agency there for a while.... ArchibaldWelch is a sales engineer for Chemical Products Co. in Hartford Bill "Sperk" Welch has added Lewis-Shepard materials handling equipment to his line, operates out of Dayton. Sperk and Helen have got the cutest little girl, Debbie... 18 months and already a threat to Duncan Hines. She fleeced a perfectly good Club sandwich from the Canasta table before I even had a chance to lay down my red three.
In the field of journalism, Dick Hull is pounding out copy for the Hartford Times ...and on the West Coast, Charlie Larrabee is hustling dead lines for the San FranciscoChronicle. Al Barrett, of course, is still with the Baltimore Sun.
Joe McDevitt is selling more appeasement than steel for the Pittsburgh Steel Company. ... Lawyer Larry Ritter has hung his shingle in Hollywood. ... Tom Crowder was awarded a degree as Master of Arts from Harvard at the March exercises.... Wilbur Reinman testifying

Y., with Eastman Kodak.... Ray Zrike is in NYC with the Worcester Royal Porcelain Co.... you will perhaps have read in the April issue of the new gasoline-oxygen cutting torch which Jim Browning has invented ...pretty versatile boy, that James.
Optical Collusion: There are only three fellows in the class engaged in optometry ...
two, at least, appear to be keen competitors. On February 15, Gordon Plummet, American Optical Co., took lovely Barbara Bowen of Wellesley, Mass., as his bride. The next week, Big Don May, head of May Optical Co., and pretty Shirley Jean Myers, of Independence, Mo., announced their plans for a spring wedding. Shirley is in New York with the Thwing and Altman advertising agency.... we're further pleased to report that Stan Barr and Carol Sue Newman of Irvington, N. J., will tread the carpet this spring.... Fred Brandenburg and Frances Videto, Andover, Mass., are waiting for prices to go down and won't be married until the fall.
When the Kinney's little girl arrived, Zenith Radio exec Gene couldn't resist the following: "We Take Pride in Announcing... a new evening program, starring ... Catherine Jean Kinney, sponsored by Barbara and Gene Kinney ... presented for the first time on January 19, 1951, at 7:50 p.m." The MelFribergs have a son, Peter Anton, born February 9,... and there's a new little girl, Phyllis, at the Don Hinkleys.
