It was with mixed emotions (like seeing your mother-in-law drive over a cliff... in your new Cadillac) that I learned this month's column would have to be held short. For the first time, there was enough news for a full column, without any agonizing "padding."

First of all, we'd like to thank all of you fellows who contributed to the Alumni Fund for your generosity.

Bill "Hose" Craig finally got the word. On November 20, he slips into his pinks and Fort Mead, Md. At this writing, Hose and Liz are en route to Florida for a two weeks rest cure after a siege of farewell parties. An intelligence officer in World War II, Bill was engaged in most of the tough invasion campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge.

Capt. Jim Elliot has a San Francisco APO number. .. . Gil Anthony and bride have settled in Seward, Alaska, where, among other ventures, Gil operates a plane charter service. ...George "Tank" Bruce and family have moved out of atomic range to fashionable Old Greenwich. An advertising exec, the Tank has been charged with losing a deodorant account with his slogan "Make your arm pit a charm pit."

No baby-kisser, he ... Councilman StanZarod (Springfield, Mass.) has improved on standard political practice, sponsoring Pee Wee baseball leagues and giving away 32" trophies. Still active in baseball, the councilman covered the hot corner for the Chapman Valve and Polish Vets teams this past season.

Cy Thompson and family are living in London, England.. .. Bob Conroy is a C. P. A. with the Peat Merwick Mitchell Co. in New York City. ... Dr. Earl Owen has set up shop in Huntington, West Va. .. . Artist HaidenRitchie is now associated with the McCann Erickson Advertising agency in San Francisco. . . . Ray Snell is with the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn as a financial analyst, which should be no little job with this new tax business. . .. Bud Welch has recently joined the John M. Berry Co. in Dayton. The Welches and Craigs were down last weekend for a little gathering, and Sperk, appropriate to the seasons, amused himself by penalizing the more curvaceous ladies present five yards for "backfield in motion."

Dick Allen is doing graduate work in Physics, at Brown. ... Bill Barrett has left the Hub for lumber interests in Rosemont, Pa. ... and Bucky Brandt has manoeuvred his forces to Westchester from Jersey since taking over the Cosmetics and Drug department of Bloomingdale's in New York City. ... Willie Ard has brought out a couple of new who-dunnits which are being published in Pocketbook editions . . . hope to have the titles for your reading lists by next month.

In the only wedding of the month, GilFrank and Rosalie Halbren stepped down the aisle on October li. "Bushy" Salamanowitz was best man for Gil.

Again, many thanks for your contributions!
