We have to hold the notes short this month to leave room for all the names of this year's contributors to the Alumni Fund. This is our biggest year. As you read down the list you'll recall a lot of guys you may have forgotten, and who perhaps I have forgotten in these monthly columns, but who all remembered the school and helped make this the best year for '44!

John Eaton will take on the reins of reunion chairman for our get-together next June. Tentative plans are now being laid in some black den on Third Avenue, and if you missed the soiree that that French marquis tossed this summer you can't afford to miss this. It's a social "must."

I won't have space to tell you about JimFinn's life down in Nicaragua and will have to wait for next month ... but the boy is really living! Another Robert Ruark Trial lawyer Steve Tate has recently become associated with the law firm of Lovejoy and Cuneo in Norwalk, Conn. An active reservist, Steve slipped on the silver bar this summer for a tour of duty at Camp Drum, N.Y. Speaking of the military, John Baker came home from Korea with more enthusiasm than is par for the course. It was the first time he was to see his daughter, Johanna, born last January 22! John, who is an M.D., served in hospital trains, transferring wounded fighting men from front lines to stations where they could be flown to Japanese hospitals. Before going to Korea in September '52, he had the unusual Army position of heading up the obstetrics department at the base hospital at Camp Stewart.

One of the Army's best educated officers, Major Gene Callaghan was recently transferred to the Military Transport service in Washington as a manpower management officer. After leaving Dartmouth, Gene went to West Point, then American University, and last year the Air Force sent him to the hallowed halls of Harvard for a Masters degree in Business Administration.

Perry Craver is up in Laconia, N. H., owner and manager of the Western Auto Associate Store there. Hold off any of your appliance purchases until you go skiing this winter. In New York, the U.S. Steel Homes, Inc. (a subsidiary of U.S. Steel) recently elected three new officers, one of whom is John Bird, now serving as assistant secretary. John has a legal background with a law degree from the U. of Cincinnati. Next time you salesmen goof off in the N.Y. Public Library, stop in and see Al Whitlock who's keeping the old sanctuary going for you.

Recent visitors to Hanover included DonDunbar, the John Stephensons (all the way from Grosse Point), the Jack Jenesses, and the Dick Silversteins.

As the friendly Bee-Bopper might say, "Have a cool yule and frantic first." Thanks again for the fine job on the Alumni Fund!
