The annual picnic of the Dartmouth Club of Washington, D. C., held in Bethesda, Md., September 13, with many alumni, wives, children and other guests present, marks the opening of another busy year for the Club. RussPage '36 arranged a program of games, songs by the Stirling Wilson '16 quartet, refreshments and picnic lunch, and pony rides for the youngsters.

One Washingtonian will be greatly missed: Mike Cardozo '32, first vice-president of the Club, who has joined the staff of the Cornell University Law School. Harry Casler '30 of the State Department has gone to Amsterdam on a foreign assignment. Ellis O. Briggs '21 stopped off in Washington en route from his ambassador post in Czechoslovakia to his new assignment in Korea. His son, Everett E. Briggs, is a member of the Washington group entering Dartmouth this fall.

Henry L. Duncombe Jr., Assistant Dean of Tuck School who has been on leave of absence for a year to serve as Industrial Materials and Manufactured Goods Division economist for Office of Price Stabilization, has resigned his OPS post and returned to Dartmouth. Another OPS official, J. H. "Hep"Randolph Jr. '37, acting director of the Consumer Durable Goods Division, has resigned to return to his firm, Aluminum Cooking Utensil Cos., of New Kensington, Pa., where he was a district sales representative.

Ogden Brown '09 has been confined to Mt. Alto Hospital here for some weeks as a result of crushed legs and other critical injuries received in an automobile accident.

Among recent speakers at luncheon meetings were Alan Hewitt '34, stage star in CallMe Madam, and Death of a Salesman, who discussed informally his work on radio, television and stage since graduation from college; and John Foley '37 who gave an interesting talk on his work as a treaty adviser in the State Department, with which he has been associated since graduation.

Matt Jones '23 reported that the Dartmouth Club of Washington's 1952 award of a copy of The Dartmouth Bible has been made to Erik Sedman Ronhovoe, a third-term student at St. Albans School. Matt who made the award for the Club heads a committee to review thoroughly the possibilities and advantages of similar awards at other schools in the Washington area.
