Francis M. Shea '25, former Assistant Attorney General and former member of the Nuremburg trials staff, was the guest speaker at the big Dartmouth Night program at the Hotel Willard Congressional Room October 17. Features of the program were a Webster recording with Edward Arnold, Hollywood star, portraying the part of Daniel Webster, presented by Nate Colwell '25; and selections by the Dartmouth Barbershop Quartet led by Stirling Wilson '16.
The Football Scrapbook of 1951, featuring the Princeton game, was followed by refreshments. Joe Fanelli '32 headed the committee in charge, which included Dick Loos '46, Frank Martell '44, Bill Whitman '42 and KingCole '19.
Weekly luncheon speakers last month, arranged by Second Vice President Karl Dollak 35' included George M. Morris '11, who told of the Free Jurists Conference he attended in Berlin last summer; Prof. John Gazley, of the Dartmouth History Department, who discussed his work at the War College in Washington; Dr. Stanwood Cobb '03, headmaster, Chevy Chase (Md.) Country Day School, who spoke on Islamic culture; and Roger Antaya '44, who told of his work as athletic director at the Air Force's Boiling Field in Washington.
Two Club members have been honoied, JoeKiernan '37 being elected a football letter member of the Board of Governors of the famous Touchdown Club; and J. Clifford Cosgrove '45 of Falls Church, Va., being named business manager of George Washington University.
Florida
The alumni clubs in the State of Florida are planning a get-together in Orlando. The host Club will be the Dartmouth Alumni Club of Central Florida. At the time this goes to press, the date for the get-together is set for the weekend of November 15.
It is planned to take up an entire motel which has swimming facilities, and to organize an inter-club golf tournament at the Dubsdread Country Club.
