Our mail this month all comes from Northern New York State. First, a note from DickStorrs reporting his shift from Fargo, N. D., to Syracuse. Dick is practicing radiology and seems to be enjoying what he describes as the warm winters after the tough ones in Fargo. Before leaving Fargo, the Storrs were honored by a visit from Bud Little and his wife on their way East from Montana.

A third daughter, Mallory Elizabeth, arrived on February 26 to make a total of four young uns in the Moreau Brown household. Brownie's work as Director of Admissions for St. Lawrence University keeps him busy on the highways and byways. The college boom is over temporarily at least, since the birth rate for the present college generation was low, and so far there is no evidence that the Korean "Veterans" are swamping the colleges, or will do so. Son Curley aged 8 has become a real skier that can take a rope tow in stride and descend with the facility we used to admire in the kids around Hanover. Bill Lee,M.D. stopped over at St. Lawrence for a visit from Summount, a government hospital for tubercular patients, where he is located.

For those of you who may be doing some vacation touring through New England, I suggest that you include a visit to the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge, N. H. Started eight years ago as a simple altar in memory of SandySloane, on a hilltop overlooking Mt. Monadnock in southern New Hampshire, it has grown to be a national shrine. Religious services of all denominations have been held in the Cathedral, and over 600,000 visitors from all parts of the world have visited this beautiful spot. I am sure any member of the class would find his visit to the Cathedral a very moving and worthwhile experience.

Major Bob Hall is with the Hq., 2nd Inf. Div., office of the Surgeon, in the Far East. Bob has been in the army for some time and was previously Regimental Surgeon for the 23rd Infantry.

Among the doctors, we find Lud Pyrtek a surgeon in West Hartford, Conn. The Pyrteks have two daughters, Susan and Nancy, and if you are passing through you can find them at 112 White Ave. Ralph and Jean Reynolds, with son Mark, make their home in Albany, where Ralph practices internal medicine and cardiology. Bill Fairweather is a resident surgeon at the Memorial Cancer Center in New York City. The Fairweathers have two children, Ann and Bill, and the last address we have was 1177 Third Ave. in the big city. Sometime I'm going to count the number of doctors in the class, as I am sure they make up a considerable percentage of our total classmates.

When last heard from, Brownie Sullivan was a physician studying psychiatry at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Washington. It must be that we have reported Brownie's marriage to Leone Stevens of Minneapolis on November 3, 1950, but can't quite seem to find it in the copy to prove it. Brownie and "Boots" Hoskinson get together for poker with a group every two weeks, and understand they are always looking for a little "fresh money" from out-oftowners. At last report Mike Davis was a physiologist studying for hi,s Ph.D., with plans for later working for the Public Health Service in Washington. Dr. Dave Reid and family are living in Weston, Mass., and have occasional visits with Charlie Thompson, WinNaylor and Johnny Perry.

When some of you "Vidiots" don't get the picture you think you should on your TV set, maybe the man to blame is Walt Arnold, television cameraman with NBC. Walt studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan after leaving the service, then went with NBC as TV Engineer. Guess he must like the work as he slaves week-ends, holidays and till all hours of the night. Sam Thurm is a nearby Scarsdale neighbor. When home, Walt's address is 12 Leith Place, White Plains.

Warren Hayward has built himself a new home in Rumford, R. 1., doing much of the work himself. When not working on his home, Warren is Professional Representative with Smith, Kline and French Labs of Philadelphia. Another classmate putting the finishing touches on a new home is Dick Hobbs, who has been in his new place in Lynnfield Center, Mass., about a year. Dick is a patent attorney with the Research Division of United Shoe Machinery Corp. Ed Wells and his family are neighbors of the Hobbs' in Lynnfield.

Roy Middleworth has been serving as the President of the Dartmouth Alumni Club of Glens Falls and vicinity for the year 1951- 1952. Roy is an Investigator for the State of New York's Attorney General's Office. So far as we know, Roy remains one of the exclusive group of '39 bachelors, and so does Walt Martinson. Walt is an Accountant with the accounting firm of Patterson, Teele and Dennis in Boston. Walt says he runs into Dick Morgan quite often at Crown Textiles in Pawtucket.

Herb Stine is now on the fifth and perhaps the final year of his five year plan for remodeling their farmhouse in Millington* N. J. Herb is a Mechanical Engineer for the Bakelite Corp., Bloomfield, N. J.

Dave Walsh can be found in St. Albans, Vt., where he is a saleman for the Gulf Oil Corp. .. . Jim and Martha Schofield are living at Port Republic, N. J., where Jim is a poultry farmer. ... Betty and Wells Bates are living in Chester, Conn., have four children, and Wells is a partner in the C. J. Bates Cos.. ..

Bob Sullivan is in Evanston, 111.. .. Bill andJane Kent make their home in Clifton Heights, Pa., where Bill is in the textile manufacturing business with the Kent Manufacturing Company. ... Stan Beskind is a manufacturer of cellophane packaging and lives in Great Neck, N. Y. John Parke is living in Norwood, Mass., where he is a proofreader at the Norwood Press.

Ernie Bly is working for the Construction Division of duPont, and living in Wilmington. Ollie Babcock is with the Ruhm Phosphate & Chemical Cos. in Evanston, 111., and makes his home in Golf, 111.

We hope that you have given, or will give, some serious thought to the needs of the Alumni Fund this year. As this is written we have quite a list of early contributors, and many represent increases over last year. See you next month.
