It is an unwelcome duty to report the deaths of two classmates, Tex Morris on October 17 and Ernie Stowell on August 15. Tex had just returned from a hunting trip in Mexico when he suffered a severe stroke. Ernie Stowell passed away from a heart attack after a short illness, only two days before his 67th birthdayDeepest sympathy of the entire Class is extended to the families of these classmates.
Reuning with a banquet hall full of campus temporaries from half a dozen classes at the University Club, Boston, the "Night Before" the Harvard game were: Eddie LuitwielerBud Hoban, Ben Adams, Gardy Bullard, Caesar Young, Mort Kyle, Ben Hunt,Fletcher Clark, Lyme Armes and Mike Norton, who introduced a Dartmouth rooter friend from Haverhill, Mr. Tibbetts. Greetings from a score or more of New England Twelvers who could not attend, were circulated about "he 1912 table but the "big noise" was the loud cheer from out the long-sustained silences of Piqua, Ohio, which Jake Orr had sent to Ben Adams. Ben, by the way, was sporting his new glasses. Both his eyes have been cleared of cataracts.
Bud and Barbara Hoban started their annual southern road cruise the middle of November. Soon after, they announced the sale of Camp Wallula, New London, N. H., which they had operated for the past 38 summers. However, they will retain their home at the camp and be available for consultation if needed. The new owner is Thomas T. Tongue II, for fourteen years a camper and counsellor.
Peter Ryan Stevens, son of Henry BaileyStevens was married to Rhoda Richards Pickwick in the First Congregational Church of Lisbon, N. H„ in October. The bridegroom, a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, is a geologist employed by the United States Geological Survey.
An altar in the Church of St. Matthew and the Redeemer in South Boston, was dedicated to the memory of the former rector of that Church, the late Rev. F. Taylor, Weil.Dick Remsen has been elected to the Board of Directors of Buck Hill Falls Company, Buck Hill Falls, Pa., where he has long had a summer cottage. Dick is also a trustee of the Choate School, Wallingford, Conn., and is president of the Garden City Golf Club, Garden City, N. Y.
Fletcher Clark III, '45, has been transferred to Marmora, Ontario, on a construction job for Turner Construction Co. Fletcher Clark acquired a new granddaughter born last May 10 his daughter, Mrs. Harold Atkins. His son, Edward Clark '52, is serving his time as an ensign in the Navy, having received his commission at Dartmouth on the ROTC program. Youngest son, Charles, has entered Massachusetts University as a freshman.
