The boss man who cracks the whip over the class scribes announces plans for the Fund Issue and says: .. we therefore request that the notes for December be kept as concise as possible." And this means that The Irishman and his peerless SKIDDOO will be the recipients of quite a batch of stuff we had laid by for presentation in this issue. Watch for SKIDDOO!

Shiner Beggs, formerly advertising manager Living for Young Homemakers, has joined the special publications division in a special sales and merchandising activity, House Beautiful magazine, New York.

The annual 1923 FALL GET-TOGETHER AND DINNER usually scheduled for the last Thursday in September, in Boston, will be held at the time of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston's annual dinner and meeting in February 1954.

Said A1 Dickerson, Director of Admissions, in a letter to Os Skinner '28: "I thought you would be interested to know that the twenty sons of '28ers in the class of 1957 came very close to establishing a new record. We have discovered that it is only three short of the record of 23 set by the sons of the Class of 1923 in the Class of 1950."

Doug Manson, not long ago, was made v.p. of Benton and Bowle.s, Inc., New York s largest advertising agency. Good going in tough competition!

Massachusetts State Senator Phil Bowker (R. Brookline) was elected chairman, last September of the legislative commission investigating Communism.

Nonnie Fay has moved his Chrysler-Plymouth operation to 259 Belmont St., Belmont, Mass., where it is known as the Fay Auto Co. We are informed that the service rendered by Nonnie's outfit, always good, is now better than ever.

Referring again to the batch of news we are furnishing The Irishman for SKIDDOO, the batch consists of some fine letters received recently from a number of '23s whose goings on have been unreported in class publications for a long time. We have eight such chronicles from the following: Ly Harding, HubertSchaaf, Larry Brooks, Mike Camp, WackWackerhagen, Al Taylor, Al Emerson, BobPaters on.

We are tickled pink to be able to report that the chairman of arrangements for our 31st Reunion, Jim Broe, has already lined up most of the calendar of events, sewed up the facilities and the people, and insured, in short, that 1923 will have the cream of the services and locations for our party. The dates mark them well - are Friday through Sunday, June 18 through 20, 1954, one week after Commencement. The Classes of 1924 and 1925 reune at the same time.

Your class officers and executive committee, knowing full well that our constituents will not be satisfied to have our 31st Reunion come and go without something special, have worked out a brand-new project which will come to a head during our Reunion and which will again demonstrate Twenty-Three's loyalty to and support of the College. By the time these lines appear in print you will have been fully informed concerning this new project the DARTMOUTH CLASS OF 1923's 31st REUNION SCHOLARSHIP GIFT, for which we seek the participation of every classmate.

One of these days Cap Palmer's picture, The Man with a Thousand Hands, will be a thing we all must see. A product of his own producing organization, the picture is a fulllength Technicolor documentary which was filmed over a period of more than a year in British Columbia, and shows the importance of machines in the construction of the almost-billion dollar Kitimat-Nechako-Kemano power unit. Raymond Massey speaks the narration, which Cap wrote.

All of us join in extending our sympathy to the wives and children and other loved ones of these men who have left our company: Norm Fermoyle, Hal Fitz, Fred Steinhilber, and Dick Huff, who were lost to the fellowship of their companions in the Class by deaths which occurred in July and August.

The Metzels wish you all a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with joys and satisfactions.
