A smoker was held at the home of TomCurtis '32, one of the trustees of the College, on October 1, in commemoration of Dartmouth Night. After a formal business meeting at which Club President Joe Logan '42 outlined plans for the coming year, Curtis reported on matters which were of special interest to all. He discussed the practical problems facing the trustees. He mentioned the necessity for maintaining and increasing scholarship funds. He urged as many as possible to attend the Dartmouth alumni regional meeting at Kansas City in November. Also, Tom is again a candidate for Congress for the second district of Missouri, and discussed the issues in the coming campaign. The Club was greatly appreciative of Tom's always gracious hospitality.

We have temporarily lost the company of one of our youngest members. Mead Metcalf '54 has volunteered for military service. We wish him the best of luck and hope he returns soon.
