John Granfield '46, who is with the FBI office in Edwardsville, Ill., attended the weekly luncheon on December 16. John's family includes a newborn daughter who, he asserts, is the finest in existence!

The annual Christmas-season luncheon took place at the Mark Twain Hotel on December 28. There was a very good turnout, including 37 alumni, 11 undergraduates and 41 prospective students and fathers. As is customary at these luncheons, the program was arranged particularly to interest the prospective students. Tom Curtis '32, Congressman from Missouri and Trustee of the College, spoke on "Problems Facing the Liberal Arts College." The College undergraduates, always the most effective spokesmen as regards prospective students, contributed greatly to the program. Alan E. Palmquist '55 spoke on College scholarship and on job placement; John Chafee '55 spoke on Dartmouth spirit; Athan Mertis '57 on college activities, and Stuart Kornfeld '58, on the intellectual stimulus provided by the college program. After the meeting, the film Dartmouth Out-of-Doors was shown to the guests. Much credit goes to President Joe Logan '42 for the excellent arrangements, and to Bob Turner '33 for his unceasing activity in furtherance of college enrollment.

Plans are being made for a St. Louis Hanover Holiday on March 7. This promises to be an outstanding occasion. Details respecting this event will be sent to club members in the near future.
