The Club held its annual golf tournament on October 19, at Greenbrier Country Club. Despite inclement weather, we had an enthusiastic group. Winners were Harry Deckert '35, Jack Merrill '30, Joe Logan '42, and JimJones '38. There was a banquet following the golf. Those not in attendance missed a drink on Deckert.
The voters of the Second Congressional District of Missouri, including various members of the Club, heeded the call of President Eisenhower on November 2 and returned Tom Curtis '32 to Congress. Tom has the congratulations and best wishes of the entire Club. Another of our members, Howard J.Mullin '27, is also performing important public service. Howie is with the United States Steel Corporation here in St. Louis, and at present is on detached service with the Department of Commerce in Washington, D. C., as director of Iron and Steel Division, Business and Defense Services Administration. This is a responsible position and is considered a real honor in the steel industry. He will be on this tour of duty for six months.
We are always glad to have more in attendance at the weekly luncheon at the Ding Ho Restaurant, so show up!
